Tips: Treatment of multiple uterine fibroids

With the continuous improvement of medical standards, the methods for treating multiple uterine fibroids are different. So what are the treatments for multiple uterine fibroids ? Let's talk about the treatments for multiple uterine fibroids.

There are three types of multiple uterine fibroids: (1) about 60%-70% in the myometrium, (2) 20% under the serosa, and (3) 10% under the mucosa. Uterine fibroids are benign, with a low rate of malignant transformation of about 0.5%, and are more common in older women. The main methods for treating multiple uterine fibroids are as follows:

1. Observation. For those who are close to menopause and have no obvious symptoms, B-ultrasound examination should be conducted every three months or six months; even if there are fibroids but no symptoms, regular follow-up examinations and observations can be conducted.

2. Diagnostic curettage. Patients with irregular vaginal bleeding other than menstruation can undergo diagnostic curettage and pathological examination.

3. Drug treatment. Patients with multiple uterine fibroids with heavy menstrual flow can choose androgen drugs, which can counteract estrogen, shrink the endometrium, and shrink the uterine smooth muscle and uterine vascular smooth muscle, reducing bleeding. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment of multiple uterine fibroids can also reduce menstrual flow, but it does not significantly shrink the fibroids.

4. Surgical treatment. This method of treating multiple uterine fibroids is only suitable for patients with large fibroids, obvious symptoms, and those who have not responded to non-surgical treatment.

The above is an introduction to the treatment methods of multiple uterine fibroids. Patients with multiple uterine fibroids should choose the treatment method that suits them according to their actual condition.
