Classification of cervical erosion: true and false erosion

Classification of cervical erosion: true and false erosion

What are the classifications of cervical erosion? I believe that female friends should be familiar with cervical erosion, but do you know the classifications of cervical erosion? The requirements are different, and the classifications of cervical erosion are also different. So, what are the classifications of cervical erosion? Let me introduce the classifications of cervical erosion below.

1. Classification of cervical erosion: pseudo-erosion

The pathological concept of erosion refers to "the shedding of the surface epithelium", and the common cervical erosion in clinical work is mostly the red area around the external cervical opening. During colposcopy, after applying 3% acetic acid on the surface of the red area, the classification of cervical erosion can be seen that the red area has a "grape cluster" change, which is caused by columnar epithelial edema. If a biopsy is performed on the area, columnar epithelium can be seen on the surface under a microscope. Therefore, if the pathological definition of erosion is strictly followed, it does not belong to erosion, so some people suggest calling it pseudo-erosion. Most of the cervical erosion seen in clinical work belongs to this type.

2. True erosion

Because the surface of the cervix is often covered with a lot of mucus or purulent secretions, these secretions stimulate and soak the squamous epithelium around the external cervical opening for a long time. The classification of cervical erosion, coupled with the inflammatory infiltration of the deep tissues of the cervix, makes the squamous epithelium covering the surface of the cervix lose its vitality and fall off, forming an ulcer, which is true erosion. However, this erosion surface is quickly covered by the columnar epithelium around it, forming a red area with a granular surface and a certain luster, that is, false erosion. The cervical erosion we find in our daily work is mostly classified as false erosion, and true erosion is only a short stage in this pathological process. Its prognosis will be that the surface is covered by columnar epithelium and becomes false erosion.

The above is the introduction of the classification of cervical erosion, true and false erosion, for your reference only. The classification of cervical erosion is far more than these. Once again, I hope everyone can stay away from the above classification of cervical erosion. In addition, if you have any questions about the classification of cervical erosion, please consult online experts!
