Experts explain the causes of Trichomonas vaginitis

Trichomonas vaginitis is a vaginal inflammation disease caused by Trichomonas vaginalis, which is a contagious disease. So, what are the causes of Trichomonas vaginitis? Let us introduce it to you in detail.

Trichomonas vaginitis is a common vaginitis caused by Trichomonas vaginalis. Trichomonas hidden in the glands and vaginal folds often reproduce before and after menstruation, causing inflammation. It can consume or devour the glycogen in the vaginal epithelial cells and hinder the production of lactic acid.

Trichomonas vaginitis is acquired through infection from the outside. For an infectious disease to spread, there must be three conditions: source of infection, route of transmission, and susceptible individuals. Anyone can be infected with Trichomonas, and those with changes in vaginal pH or low immunity are more susceptible to infection. Very few patients can recover on their own after being infected with Trichomonas, and even if they are cured, they can be infected again next time. The source of infection of Trichomonas is those carriers and contaminated objects. So, what are the causes of Trichomonas vaginitis?

There are three types of Trichomonas that parasitize the human body: oral Trichomonas, human Trichomonas (parasitic in the intestines) and vaginal Trichomonas. Vaginal Trichomonas mainly invades the human urogenital system. It can parasitize in the skin folds of the vulva, paraurethral glands, lower urethra, Bartholin's glands, vagina and cervical canal of women; in men, vaginal Trichomonas mostly parasitizes in the urethra and prostate. The other two types of Trichomonas in the human body do not infect the vagina. Usually, some healthy women have vaginal Trichomonas in their vagina, but it does not cause an inflammatory reaction. It may be that the vaginal environment is temporarily not suitable for the growth of Trichomonas, or it may be because the infected strain is not very toxic. However, when the vaginal environment changes and is conducive to the growth of Trichomonas, it may cause Trichomonas vaginitis. Trichomonas vaginitis is a very common vaginal inflammation in women of childbearing age, and its incidence rate is second only to candidal vaginitis.

There are many causes of trichomoniasis, which is mainly transmitted through sexual intercourse, that is, if you have had sex with someone who has trichomoniasis, the chance of being infected is very high. In addition, trichomoniasis can also be indirectly transmitted through objects contaminated by vaginal Trichomonas, such as family members sharing bathtubs, medical cross-infection, and public bath basins, which are all causes of indirect transmission of trichomoniasis.

As for the transmission route, there are two types: direct transmission, that is, sexual transmission, and indirect transmission. In foreign countries, vaginal trichomoniasis is mainly transmitted through sexual intercourse, so it is classified as a sexually transmitted disease. Due to the large population in my country and the relatively backward public health facilities compared to developed countries, transmission in public places has also become an important transmission route.

Through the above introduction, I believe everyone has a certain understanding of the causes of Trichomonas vaginitis. If you have other questions, you can click online consultation to consult our experts.
