A brief analysis of differential diagnosis of cervicitis

A brief analysis of differential diagnosis of cervicitis

Cervicitis is often caused by childbirth, surgery and other reasons. It is a disease that is easily ignored by female friends. So, what are the differential diagnosis methods for cervicitis? Let the experts introduce it in detail below, hoping to help everyone understand cervicitis in more detail.

Early cervical cancer is generally hard and brittle, and is very easy to bleed, while cervical erosion is soft and smooth. Although it has a tendency to bleed, it will only be stained with blood on the fingertip after being touched during examination. However, most cervical erosive lesions of cervicitis are difficult to distinguish from early cervical cancer in terms of morphology. So what are the differential diagnosis methods for cervicitis?

1. Cervical smear cytology examination is an important initial screening method for atypical cervical hyperplasia (precancerous lesions) and early cervical cancer.

2. Colposcopy: Take a smear or biopsy of the cervical secretions in the suspicious lesion area under the direct view of a magnifying glass, with a diagnosis rate of up to 98%. This is one of the differential diagnosis methods for cervicitis.

3. Iodine test cervical biopsy: The glycogen of the normal cervical and vaginal squamous epithelium can be stained brown by iodine solution. However, in the atypical hyperplasia of the squamous epithelium and the carcinoma in situ area, the glycogen is broken down and the iodine solution is not easy to stain this area. Therefore, the diagnostic rate is higher when taking a biopsy in the lower stained area.

4. Gynecological examination: Acute inflammation can cause cervical congestion and edema, or erosion, with purulent secretions discharged from the cervical canal, and pain when the cervix is touched. Chronic cervicitis can cause cervical erosion, hypertrophy, polyps, glandular cysts, and eversion to varying degrees, or purulent secretions at the cervical opening, and a hard cervix when palpated. If there is cervical erosion or polyps, there may be contact bleeding.

Through the above introduction, I believe everyone has a certain understanding of the differential diagnosis method of cervicitis. Remind female friends to pay attention to hygiene after abortion and during the postpartum period to prevent the occurrence of cervicitis.
