The Health Bureau stated that Mid-Autumn Festival mooncakes are high in calories. For example, one egg yolk pastry contains about 300 calories, which requires 10 laps around the perimeter of Wenxin Forest Park to burn off. It is recommended to adopt the principle of "taste just enough, eat smart but not full" when eating to avoid causing a health burden. Pair it with more vegetables and consume an appropriate amount of fruit after the meal to maintain balanced nutrition and avoid indigestion.

Huang Meina, director of the Taichung Municipal Government's Health Bureau, said that patients with hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and chronic kidney disease need to pay attention to their intake of salt, saturated fat, and cholesterol when enjoying mooncakes. They can also follow the principle of just tasting a little and stop. They can cut the mooncakes into small pieces and share them with friends and family without having to worry about taking in too many calories. They can also taste mooncakes with more flavors.
