Vulvar itching and abnormal vaginal discharge

Symptoms of vulvar itching and abnormal vaginal discharge may indicate vaginal infection. If you experience severe discomfort, please seek medical attention immediately. In daily life, many factors may cause these problems, such as candidal infection, bacterial vaginosis or exogenous stimulation. Under normal circumstances, vaginal discharge is part of the vaginal self-cleaning process and is usually transparent or milky white. However, when the color, smell or texture of vaginal discharge changes, it may be the body sending out an alarm.

Common causes of vulvar itching include over-washing, detergent allergies, or tight clothing. Candida infection and bacterial vaginosis are common vaginal diseases that can change the color and odor of vaginal discharge. Candida infection often causes leucorrhea to be creamy, while bacterial vaginosis may cause leucorrhea to be grayish white with a fishy odor. Improper personal hygiene habits or the misuse of antibiotics can disrupt the balance of normal vaginal flora, leading to exacerbation of these problems.

To deal with these problems, good personal hygiene habits are very important. Avoid using irritating detergents and choose mild lotions. Wear loose and breathable cotton underwear to reduce the moisture environment and reduce the chance of bacterial growth. In terms of diet, consuming more foods rich in probiotics, such as yogurt, can help maintain healthy vaginal flora. If symptoms persist or worsen, be sure to consult a doctor for appropriate diagnosis and treatment advice to further investigate the cause.
