It is easy to be confused with sarcoma degeneration during macroscopic examination. The cell structure cannot be seen under the light microscope, and the lesion part is a uniform eosin-red area without structure. Fibroids with a diameter greater than 4 cm have varying degrees of hyaline degeneration. The larger the fibroid, the more extensive the degeneration. This degeneration does not cause special clinical symptoms.

Liquefaction or cystic degeneration: caused by the further development of hyaline degeneration. On the basis of hyaline degeneration, insufficient blood supply causes the tissue in the degenerated area to liquefy, forming a cystic cavity containing jelly-like or transparent liquid. The entire tumor is soft like a cyst.
