What is uterine fibroids with adenomyosis?

Many times, we neglect the health of our female friends. Especially now many women suffer from various gynecological diseases. Due to Chinese tradition, women have been more conservative since ancient times, especially for some diseases of the private parts, they dare not speak out. This leads to many diseases being delayed at the best treatment time. Today, we will introduce a gynecological disease-fibroid adenomyosis.

What is uterine fibroids with adenomyosis

Adenomyosis is a diffuse or localized lesion in which the endometrial glands and stroma infiltrate the myometrium. Like endometriosis, it is a common and difficult gynecological disease. Adenomyosis often occurs in midwives aged 30-50 years old, and in young women who have not given birth. This may be related to the increase in various intrauterine surgeries. About 15% of patients have endometriosis, and about 50% have fibroids. The treatment of this disease can be achieved by drug intervention or surgical treatment, but radical cure is difficult, and only postmenopausal patients with adenomyosis can gradually improve. Therefore, the choice of clinical treatment should be individualized according to the patient's age, symptoms and reproductive requirements.

The cause of adenomyosis is unknown. The current consensus is that the uterus lacks a submucosal layer, so the basal cells of the endometrium proliferate and invade the myometrium, accompanied by compensatory hypertrophy and proliferation of surrounding myometrial cells.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that this disease is caused by qi stagnation, cold stagnation, heat burning, qi deficiency and kidney deficiency, which leads to blood stasis, heavy kidney, uterus, dysmenorrhea and irregular menstruation. Its main pathogenesis is blood stasis blocking the kidney and uterus.

In the past, adenomyosis mostly occurred in women over 40 years old, but in recent years it has gradually become younger, which may be related to the increase in intrauterine surgeries such as cesarean sections and artificial abortions.

Female friends with adenomyosis usually have dysmenorrhea or painful menstruation. Compared with normal people, the uterus will be enlarged and generally spherical. Nodules may appear when the condition is serious. Therefore, the only thing we can do for these friends is to follow the doctor's advice, take medicine on time, and undergo surgical treatment when necessary. In life, you must pay attention to diet and sleep, and maintain a happy mood.
