The difference between threatened abortion and menstruation

Menstruation refers to vaginal bleeding that occurs at almost the same time, which is a normal physiological phenomenon. Vaginal bleeding in threatened abortion occurs suddenly and is accompanied by severe abdominal pain symptoms. This is a big difference between them. Active treatment is necessary after threatened abortion.

Nowadays, people's minds are becoming more and more open, so many people have sex before getting married. Many times, they get pregnant unexpectedly. If they are not well protected, threatened abortion will occur. Some people confuse threatened abortion with menstruation, thinking that menstruation is coming, and if it is not handled properly, it will cause serious harm to health.

1. What is threatened abortion?

Threatened abortion refers to a small amount of blood in the vagina, which usually appears before 28 weeks of pregnancy, followed by back pain and abdominal pain. During pelvic examination, no pregnancy material is discharged and the cervix is intact. If the symptoms are severe, abortion will occur.

2. What is menstruation?

Menstruation refers to a normal physiological phenomenon. Vaginal bleeding occurs every month. It is caused by the collapse and shedding of the endometrium, the growth and secretion of glands, and the proliferation of blood vessels, which are then accompanied by bleeding changes. Cyclic uterine bleeding and vaginal bleeding are what we usually call menstruation.

3. The difference between threatened abortion and menstruation:

A few days before bleeding, there may be some discharge from the vagina, which is brown. If it is normal menstrual bleeding, there will be some blood flowing out at the beginning, but there will be no brown discharge. If the menstrual bleeding time is about three days to a week, the color is very red, and the amount of bleeding may be heavier at the beginning and slowly decrease. Some people have less bleeding in the first few days before and after, and more in the middle. Everyone's situation will be different, but in general, the amount of bleeding is very stable, and the amount of bleeding from threatened abortion will not be as much as menstruation. There is only a small amount of vaginal bleeding, which is irregular bleeding. This is the difference between them, and we must figure it out.

These are the differences between threatened abortion and menstruation. The differences between them are relatively large, so as long as you observe clearly, you can generally distinguish them. If it is threatened abortion, you must go to the hospital in time and do not delay.
