What are the symptoms of diffuse adenomyosis?

What are the symptoms of diffuse adenomyosis? Many female friends don’t know much about adenomyosis, so they delay the best time for treatment. Today we will learn about some symptoms of adenomyosis.

1. Sexual pain

Ectopic endometrium in the pelvis often forms nodular lesions in the uterorectal fossa, causing pain when the cervix hits and when the uterus rises during sexual intercourse.

Enlarged uterus

The uterus is spherical and hard in texture. It is generally not more than 12 weeks of pregnancy. During the recent menstrual examination, the uterus is painful. If the lesion is limited, the uterus is irregularly enlarged and the nodules are uneven. It is often combined with uterine fibroids. During menstruation, due to congestion, edema and bleeding of the lesion, the uterus can be enlarged, soft in texture, and tenderness is more obvious than usual; after menstruation, women are found to have a shrunken uterus during examination.

3. Dysmenorrhea

Dysmenorrhea is the main symptom of adenomyosis, which occurs in about 80% of patients. Most patients present with secondary dysmenorrhea with progressive aggravation. As the disease progresses, the pain may start about a week before menstruation, and a few patients still have cyclical pain before and after menstruation. Excessive menstruation is another major symptom of adenomyosis, which often leads to anemia. A small number of patients experience heavy bleeding, which can easily be misdiagnosed as functional uterine bleeding.

4. Menstrual disorders

The main manifestations of adenomyosis are increased menstrual volume and prolonged menstrual period, which are mostly caused by:

① Due to the presence of endometriosis foci in the myometrium, the myometrium cannot contract effectively, leading to excessive menstruation.

② Patients with adenomyoma are generally in a state of high estrogen, often accompanied by excessive endometrial hyperplasia, which can also lead to excessive menstruation or prolonged menstruation.

③ As the uterus enlarges, the area of the uterine cavity also increases accordingly, so the amount of bleeding increases. If adenomyoma is combined with myoma, the increase in menstrual volume is more obvious.

It is necessary for female friends to understand the symptoms of adenomyosis. If they are unfortunately sick, they can also find out their condition in the first place to avoid worsening the condition. This will only delay treatment. It is very important to know the symptoms in time.
