Should you worry about cervical erosion becoming cancerous? Teach you how to prevent cervical cancer

Cancer is scary! Cervical cancer has killed countless women, and even women diagnosed with cervical erosion and cervicitis are scared. In fact, cervical erosion is not even a disease, and ordinary cervicitis does not need treatment. Cervical erosion and cervicitis are not directly related to cervical cancer, but women who marry early, have children early, have sex before the age of 20, and have had abortions are more at risk. It is best to do regular cervical cancer prevention examinations.

Cervical erosion is not a disease! Do not over-treat it

There are many young white-collar workers in their twenties and thirties, but most of them have minor problems such as cervical erosion and cervicitis. Many patients think that cervicitis and cervical erosion should be cured early, otherwise frequent erosion will turn into cancer. "In fact, this is a very wrong statement." The name "cervical erosion" has been cancelled internationally. In fact, it is just a physiological phenomenon of "cervical columnar epithelium ectopia". Most women with cervical erosion only have epithelial ectopia due to the influence of hormone levels. When the hormone level stabilizes, the so-called "erosion" will improve.

In clinical practice, mild, moderate and severe cervical erosion only describe the scope of epithelial ectopic area (how large the ectopic area is), and the scope cannot be used as a basis for the severity of the disease. The types that reflect the depth of erosion are simple type, granular type and papillary type.

Many young women who go to some informal private hospitals for abortion surgery will listen to the doctor's advice and physically "treat" cervical erosion at the same time as the abortion. "This is completely unnecessary and even constitutes over-medicalization."

In addition, chronic cervicitis is also common among white-collar workers, especially cervical hypertrophy, Nabothian cysts and cervical polyps (the most common). Cervical hypertrophy and Nabothian cysts generally do not require treatment, while simple cervical polyps are best removed as soon as possible. Now cervical polyps can be removed in gynecological clinics without hospitalization.

It is dangerous for women to marry and have children early and have sexual experiences early!

Women who marry early, have children early, have sexual experience before the age of 20, have a history of abortion, or have multiple sexual partners are at high risk of cervical cancer. The HPV infection rate among sexually active women aged 20-40 is over 80%, so they should make the following preparations to prevent cancer.

1. Don't be lazy about cancer screening! Chen Xiaoping suggested that women who have been sexually active for more than 3 years must have a liquid-based cytology smear test (TCT) every year. If conditions permit, it is best to do TCT and HPV testing together. If both TCT and HPV are negative, you can check once every 3 years. Since last year, many foreign guidelines have begun to pay attention to HPV screening. If HPV type 16 or type 18 (with a high rate of canceration) is positive, a biopsy must be performed regardless of whether the TCT test is normal. It is understood that the current TCT test fee (in Guangzhou) is about 200 yuan, and the HPV test costs about 350 yuan (the price may vary in different hospitals).

2. Multiple sexual partners are not allowed! Multiple sexual partners will increase the infection rate of HPV. Women should not only keep themselves clean, but also pay attention to the problems of their spouses. If your spouse has the problem of foreskin being too long, it is recommended to treat it in time.

3. Be careful of precancerous lesions! The occurrence and development of cervical cancer is a gradual process that can take from several years to decades. Generally, the cancer process goes through several stages: low-grade and high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia, early invasive cancer, and invasive cancer. Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia is often called "cervical precancerous lesions." Cancer screening can detect precancerous lesions early, take measures to prevent them as soon as possible, and delay or even stop cancer.

4. Wear a condom if you don’t want to have a baby! Abortion surgery can cause some damage to the female cervix. Multiple abortions can irritate the cervix and increase the incidence of cervical cancer. If you don’t have a fertility plan, it is best to take effective contraceptive measures such as condoms.

5. Stay strong and healthy! Strengthen your immunity and lay a good foundation for dealing with all diseases. A healthy lifestyle includes not only diet and exercise, but white-collar workers should also be careful about the harm caused by mental stress and staying up late.
