How to treat pelvic effusion and pus mass

If pelvic effusion accompanied by pus or masses is found, it may indicate infection or other pathological problems. You should seek medical attention as soon as possible and have a professional doctor make a judgment and develop a treatment plan.

Pelvic effusion itself can be a normal physiological phenomenon, such as a small amount of fluid accumulation during ovulation or menstruation, but if it is accompanied by pus or masses, it may mean infection, inflammation or disease, common causes include pelvic inflammatory disease, ovarian or fallopian tube lesions, etc. If such conditions are not treated in time, they may lead to more serious health problems, such as fallopian tube obstruction, infertility, and even abdominal infection.

Specific treatment needs to be based on the test results, such as ultrasound examinations, blood tests, etc. to clarify the problem. If it is caused by infection, doctors usually recommend the use of antibiotics to control inflammation, and sometimes they need to combine antibacterial drugs to adjust the medication after bacterial culture. If there are cysts, abscesses and other masses, you can try to control the absorption of drugs for smaller diameters, and surgery may be required for larger diameters. Drainage operations may also be required to drain the accumulated fluid or pus.

You should pay attention to daily pelvic care, avoid swimming during menstruation, unclean sexual intercourse, and maintain good personal hygiene. If you are diagnosed with pelvic inflammatory disease, you need to complete the course of treatment and avoid stopping the medication midway to prevent recurrence or worsening of the disease. If you experience abdominal pain, fever or other discomfort, do not resist it, and consult a doctor as soon as possible to get correct guidance.
