What causes Bartholinitis in women?

Bartholinitis in women is mostly caused by infection. Its main causes include bacterial infection, personal hygiene problems and other external or internal factors.

The Bartholin's glands are located near the entrance of the female vagina. When invaded by external pathogens (such as Escherichia coli, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, etc.) or infected by pathogens (such as Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, etc.), inflammation will occur. Poor personal hygiene habits, such as inadequate cleaning during menstruation or abuse of washing liquids, may disrupt the normal balance of vaginal and vulvar flora, providing conditions for the growth of pathogens. Some physiological or external factors, such as decreased immunity, damp and airtight underwear, frequent wearing of tight clothes or trauma, may also increase the risk of infection. Occasionally, friction during sexual intercourse or unclean sexual contact may be a direct cause.

The key to avoiding vestibular glanditis is to keep the vulva clean and avoid excessive washing that disrupts the balance of the flora. Choose pure cotton underwear and keep it dry and ventilated, and reduce the use of tight clothing. If you are already infected, you can choose antibiotic treatment according to the doctor's advice, such as metronidazole, cephalosporins or clarithromycin. In severe cases, surgical drainage is required. If there are repeated infections, it is recommended to check whether there are other reproductive system diseases in time and treat them. At the same time, strengthening immunity, paying attention to personal hygiene and sexual safety for a long time can effectively prevent the occurrence of diseases.
