Can I get pregnant with pelvic inflammatory disease?

1. After suffering from pelvic inflammatory disease, if the fallopian tubes are also affected, it will cause adhesions in the lumen and complete obstruction, which may affect future pregnancy and cause infertility; if the inflammation is limited to the pelvic connective tissue and the fallopian tubes are not affected, it will not affect the pregnancy function. Pelvic inflammation, especially fallopian tube inflammation, can easily induce ectopic pregnancy if there are problems such as obstruction and endometrial damage.

2. Female pelvic inflammatory disease has a wide range, including the reproductive organs, uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, pelvic peritoneum and connective tissue around the uterus. Inflammation in these places is collectively called pelvic inflammatory disease. Causes of pelvic inflammatory disease include: poor personal hygiene, use of intrauterine contraceptive devices, sexually transmitted diseases, postpartum or post-abortion infection, insufficient attention to aseptic operation before and during certain minor gynecological surgeries, unclean or menstrual intercourse, etc., which can easily lead to the invasion of pathogens and cause pelvic inflammatory disease.

3. Pelvic inflammatory disease is often a mixed infection caused by more than one pathogen. Pathogens can be transmitted through blood or lymph, sometimes directly from nearby tissues or organs, but the vast majority of pelvic inflammatory diseases are caused by pathogens in the vagina rising along the mucosal surface to the pelvic organs. Inflammation of reproductive organs and surrounding tissues is often not isolated, but affects each other and occurs simultaneously.

4. Nowadays, many people have pelvic inflammatory disease, and the most concerned issue is "Can you still get pregnant if you have pelvic inflammatory disease?" If the inflammation is limited to the connective tissue in the pelvic cavity, it will not affect conception; but if pelvic inflammatory disease involves the fallopian tubes, causing adhesions in the fallopian tubes, leading to narrowing and blockage, it will affect conception, so infertility is also common.

5. For many people, the condition is not serious at the beginning, but because they do not take any active treatment, and even do not pay attention in daily life and sexual activities, they repeatedly cause diseases such as vaginitis and cervicitis, which will become terminal in the long run.
