How to treat cervicitis

How to treat cervicitis

Cervicitis may be caused by a variety of factors, including infection, mechanical stimulation, chemical stimulation, etc. Infection is the most common cause of cervicitis. Pathogens such as Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Mycoplasma genitalium, Trichomonas, etc. may cause cervical infection and inflammation. Unhealthy sex life, personal living habits and other factors may also increase the incidence of cervicitis.

There are three main treatments for cervicitis:

1. Drug treatment: The most commonly used treatment for acute cervicitis is to use antibiotics, which must be broad-spectrum antibiotics, including anti-infective drugs. If cervicitis is caused by trauma, then anti-inflammatory drugs are needed for treatment. At the same time, topical drugs can also be applied to the cervix to relieve symptoms.

2. Physical therapy: Physical therapy is suitable for cases with severe inflammation or deep inflammatory infiltration. Commonly used methods include electric ironing, laser therapy or cryotherapy. This treatment method also has certain disadvantages, that is, the recurrence rate is relatively high.

3. Surgical treatment: For patients with deep and wide erosion or those involving the cervical canal, cervical cone resection can be considered. Due to the high bleeding caused by traditional cervical cone resection, it is now rarely used. High-frequency radio-wave knife Leep knife surgery is now more commonly used. Cervical polyps can be treated with polypectomy.

After treatment, you should pay attention to personal hygiene and avoid excessive cleaning or using overly stimulating drugs to avoid affecting the treatment effect. For patients with severe cervicitis, surgical treatment is required. Pay attention to dietary regularity, avoid overeating or excessive hunger, and maintain the body's nutritional balance. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, such as spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, etc. These foods are rich in vitamins and fiber, which help patients with cervicitis recover. Avoid eating spicy, greasy, and irritating foods, such as peppers, coffee, etc., which will aggravate the condition.
