What are the items to check for premature ovarian failure

What are the tests for premature ovarian failure?

The examination items for premature ovarian failure include chromosome examination, which is very important. Self-disease screening is also required. Then, central nervous system examination, bone density measurement and laparoscopy are performed. Ultrasound examination is performed to observe the volume of the ovaries.

1. Chromosome examination

This examination is needed to rule out adverse symptoms caused by ovarian failure due to abnormal chromosomes.

2. Screening for autologous diseases

Adrenal function, cortisol, ACTH; thyroid function: T3, T4, TSH; diabetes: fasting blood sugar; autoantibodies: antinuclear antibodies, antithyroglobulin antibodies, antithyroid granular antibodies, anticardiolipin antibodies, rheumatoid factor, etc. Routine blood tests, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, and urine routine tests should also be screened.

3. Central nervous system examination

When POF is combined with central nervous system symptoms, in addition to the pituitary gland, a pituitary magnetic resonance imaging examination should be performed, which is a common measure to check for premature ovarian failure.

4. Bone density measurement

This method usually includes dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry and single photon absorptiometry. There are also quantitative CT and ultrasound examinations. By referring to normal bone density values, a preliminary diagnosis of whether a woman has osteoporosis can be made.

5. Laparoscopy

This test can check whether a woman has ovarian atrophy or dysplasia. Ovarian biopsy and ovarian interstitial fibrosis, primordial follicles 0-1HP. Generally speaking, biopsy is not recommended.

6. Ultrasound examination

This method can effectively check whether women have premature ovarian failure. Generally speaking, the volume of the ovaries can reflect the state of the ovaries. If FSH rises, then it means changes. Most patients with premature ovarian failure, their pelvic ultrasound shows that the ovaries and uterus are shrunken, and the ovaries have no follicles. However, among normal patients with premature ovarian failure, more than 13 people can find the presence of follicles through pelvic ultrasound.
