Is B-ultrasound accurate in detecting pelvic effusion? What are the precautions?

Pelvic effusion is a common phenomenon. Many women did not know about it until they had a physical examination during pregnancy. Therefore, it is very important to check it in the usual examination. Is B-ultrasound accurate in detecting pelvic effusion?

Diagnosis of pelvic effusion often occurs in the lower part of the pelvic cavity such as the uterine rectal pouch. B-ultrasound is a commonly used and effective means of examination in gynecology, which can accurately determine the amount of effusion. Therefore, B-ultrasound examination of pelvic effusion is very accurate. Pelvic effusion is the most serious manifestation of pelvic inflammatory disease. Effusion exceeding 1.1 cm is considered serious. Under normal circumstances, there may be a small amount of effusion in the pelvic cavity.

But if there is a lot, it is considered pathological, mostly due to the presence of inflammatory exudate in the pelvic cavity. Pelvic inflammatory disease, tuberculosis, endometriosis, tumors, etc. can all cause pelvic effusion. Generally, it should be less than 10MM. If it exceeds, it is considered pathological. Therefore, the final diagnosis is still determined by the attending physician. A large amount of pelvic effusion is often related to pelvic inflammatory disease.

During the treatment process, we need to pay attention to many things. The precautions for treating pelvic effusion are:

1. Pay attention to personal hygiene: strengthen personal hygiene during menstruation, after childbirth, and after miscarriage, change underwear and sanitary napkins frequently, avoid cold, and avoid overwork.

2. Eat more light food: The diet should be light. Eat more nutritious food such as eggs, tofu, red beans, spinach, etc. Avoid eating raw, cold and irritating food.

3. Avoid sexual intercourse during menstruation: Avoid sexual intercourse during menstruation to avoid infection. Menstrual pads should be kept clean and hygienic, and it is best to use disinfected toilet paper.

4. Drink water: Pelvic inflammation can easily cause fever, so be sure to drink plenty of water to lower your body temperature.

Avoid unnecessary gynecological examinations: Try to avoid unnecessary gynecological examinations to prevent the infection from expanding and causing the inflammation to spread.
