What should I do if there is pelvic fluid accumulation after egg retrieval?

Pelvic effusion bothers many women. If it is not treated, it will grow slowly. When the pelvic effusion is too large, it cannot be eliminated by medicine and needs to be removed surgically. Pelvic effusion is divided into physiological and pathological. Pathological pelvic effusion, the normal pelvic effusion is 0.5cm. When it exceeds 1cm, it is mostly considered to be exudation caused by inflammation, which can cause pelvic adhesions and adhesions and blockages of fallopian tubes, which can lead to infertility.

Pelvic effusion is mostly caused by inflammation, and if there is pelvic effusion after egg retrieval, it must be treated early to prevent the condition from worsening. Pelvic effusion is relatively harmful and can easily lead to pelvic adhesions, fallopian tube blockage, etc., leading to infertility. If you usually have lower abdominal pain, lumbar pain, increased leucorrhea, lower abdominal tenderness, cord-like thickening, etc. during gynecological examination, consider chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, and you need to actively treat it to prevent the inflammation from worsening and the amount of effusion from increasing. Therefore, if pelvic effusion is found, it must be treated in time to prevent the condition from worsening. Generally speaking, there are several ways to reduce pelvic effusion:

1. Treatment with Chinese medicine: Most chronic pelvic inflammatory disease is of damp-heat type, and the treatment principle is to clear away heat and dampness. The main treatment is to promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis. The prescription is: 18g of Danshen, 15g of Chishao, 12g of Muxiang, 9g of Peach Kernel, 30g of Honeysuckle, 30g of Taraxacum, 12g of Poria, 9g of Moutan Cortex, and 9g of Radix Rehmanniae. When the pain is severe, add 9g of Corydalis. Some patients are of cold stagnation and qi stagnation type, and the treatment principle is to warm the meridians and dispel cold, and promote qi and blood circulation. Guizhi Fuling Decoction is often used with modifications. For those with qi deficiency, add 15g of Codonopsis, 9g of Atractylodes, and 15g of Astragalus.

2. Physical therapy: benign warm stimulation can promote local blood circulation in the pelvic cavity, improve the nutritional status of tissues, and increase metabolism, so as to facilitate the absorption and disappearance of inflammation. Commonly used methods include short wave, ultrashort wave, ion penetration, various drugs such as penicillin, streptomycin, etc., and wax therapy.
