A girl's dream fruit! Sweet persimmons can help you lose weight and replenish blood

As fall and winter arrive, sweet persimmons are also on the scene! With its crisp texture and sweet taste, persimmons have been revered as the "fruit of the gods" and "candy of nature" as early as the ancient Greek era. Nutritionists point out that sweet persimmons are rich in iron and vitamin C, which are very suitable for girls to replenish blood. In addition, persimmons can inhibit fat absorption and slow down the accumulation of body fat. They are simply girls’ dream fruit!

Rich in iron and vitamin C, persimmons are great for replenishing blood

The orange-yellow sweet persimmon is brightly colored and attractive, and its nutritional value is even more amazing. Cheng Mingwei, a nutritionist at the New Nutrition Food Generation of China Medical University, pointed out that persimmons contain more vitamin A, vitamin C and iron than the fruits we commonly eat, such as apples, grapes, and pears. A careful comparison reveals that the vitamin C contained in every 100 grams of persimmon is even more than 10 times that of Qinglong apple!

The iron and vitamin C in persimmons complement each other, promoting the absorption of iron and helping to replenish blood. It is recommended that people with anemia or girls take an appropriate amount of persimmons after the menstrual period to replenish blood and regulate their body. Regarding the amount of fruit, it is recommended to eat 2 to 4 servings a day. In addition to persimmons, you should also consume other fruits to be healthier.

Persimmons inhibit fat absorption and reduce the risk of chronic diseases

On the other hand, nutritionist Cheng Mingwei said that a 2015 study found that the polyphenols (phenolic acids and flavonoids) rich in sweet persimmons can reduce the risk of chronic diseases. A 2014 study confirmed that the tannins in persimmons can regulate the body's inflammatory response, inhibit fat absorption, and slow down the accumulation of body fat. A 2010 study showed that feeding experimental rats different varieties of persimmons could effectively reduce the incidence of arteriosclerosis.

Make persimmon jam naturally, healthily and without any burden

If you want to reap the benefits of persimmons, are there other ways to eat them besides eating them alone? Nutritionist Cheng Mingwei recommends a recipe for "Persimmon Ruyi Jam", which uses natural fruits, sugar, and maltose throughout the process, without adding any chemical substances, to fight against the food safety storm. It is safest to make it yourself!

Persimmon Ruyi Jam

Ingredients: 600g sweet persimmon, 100g fine sugar, 150g maltose, one and a half lemons, 100cc water.

practice/

1. Wash and juice the lemon; peel and cut the persimmon into pieces.

2. Prepare a pot, add lemon juice and persimmon cubes and bring to a boil, then turn to low heat, add maltose, cook and stir.

3. After mixing well, add fine sugar and cook over low heat stirring until thick.

4. Put it into a clean glass jar (make sure to clean it thoroughly to avoid bacterial growth) and store it in the refrigerator after it cools down.

Finally, nutritionist Cheng Mingwei reminds you that since a large amount of sugar and maltose are added in the jam-making process, please use them in moderation when spreading the jam to avoid consuming too much sugar and calories!
