It’s too cold in autumn and winter and you don’t want to move? 5 tips from a supermodel coach

We want exercise to become a natural part of our lives, but it is not easy to maintain an exercise habit. Leaving the air-conditioned room and exercising in the hot summer is already a big challenge. After entering autumn and winter, forcing ourselves to leave the warm bed and exercise in the freezing temperatures and winds is a big test of our willpower! James Duigan, Lara Stone and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's exclusive fitness coach, shares his five personal tips for fighting winter laziness. Don't let the weather defeat your hard-earned exercise habits.

Tip 1: Set small goals

Setting small goals for yourself each week can help motivate you to stay active during the winter. For example, going to the gym twice a week or taking a 20-minute walk around the park during your lunch break. Setting small goals like these that are not too difficult but give you a sense of accomplishment when completed will help you maintain your enthusiasm for exercise during the cold winter.

Tip 2: Don’t think too hard

Do you feel tired just thinking about going out for exercise? In fact, regular exercise can not only improve blood circulation and increase muscle mass, but also help improve work efficiency and sleep quality. If you don't want to exercise outdoors in the cold winter, getting up every hour to do simple stretches, walking around indoors, or practicing squats are also ways to keep your body active.

Tip 3: Change your exercise pattern

You may have spent the entire summer doing aerobic exercises such as running and cycling. If you still maintain the same exercise content after entering winter, you may indeed feel bored. Trying sports that you have never tried before, such as boxing and rock climbing, is also a way to keep yourself passionate and fresh about sports!

Tip 4: Find a friend to join you

If you are the kind of person who easily gives in to laziness when exercising alone, you might as well find friends to exercise together or join running clubs or sports groups in different places. You can use the constraints of the group to motivate yourself to maintain the habit of exercise. This trick is very effective in the winter when it is easy to be lazy!

Tip 5: Take Notes

Arrange a weekly exercise plan for yourself and motivate yourself by following the schedule. When setting an exercise plan, don't be too ambitious. It is meaningful to make a plan that can be implemented according to the current situation. If you can continue to complete the plans you set, you can also gain a greater sense of achievement in sports.
