Is the success rate of premature ovarian failure high? Premature ovarian failure (POF) refers to amenorrhea before the age of 40 due to ovarian failure. It is characterized by primary or secondary amenorrhea accompanied by increased blood gonadotropin levels and decreased estrogen levels, as well as a series of varying degrees of low estrogen symptoms, such as hot flashes, sweating, facial flushing, and low libido. Clinical manifestations: 1. Amenorrhea is divided into primary amenorrhea and secondary amenorrhea. Secondary amenorrhea occurs before the age of 40. Through a large survey of POF patients, it was found that there were no characteristic signs of menstrual abnormalities before amenorrhea. Some people suddenly become amenorrhea after regular menstruation, some people stop taking birth control pills or give birth, and some people show menstrual cycle and menstrual disorders before amenorrhea. 2. Some infertile patients are diagnosed with premature ovarian failure due to infertility. Infertility is the main reason for premature ovarian failure patients to seek medical treatment and distress. There are primary infertility and secondary infertility. It is recommended that those with a family history of premature ovarian failure plan to get pregnant as soon as possible. 3. Low estrogen symptoms Low estrogen symptoms of primary amenorrhea include hot flashes and/or dyspareunia. Very rare (22.2%). If present, most of them are related to the previous use of estrogen replacement therapy. Low estrogen symptoms of secondary amenorrhea are very common (85.6%). This is consistent with the theory that low estrogen symptoms are caused by estrogen withdrawal. These low estrogen symptoms also include atrophic vaginitis, frequent urination, dysuria, and atrophic urethritis. 4. Manifestations of autoimmune diseases such as Addison's disease, thyroid disease, diabetes, lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, vitiligo and Crohn's disease. There are also hidden symptoms of adrenal insufficiency, such as recent weight loss, loss of appetite, unexplained abdominal pain, weakness, increased skin pigmentation, and salt addiction. |
