Fight obesity! Chinese medicine acupoint massage method for slimming the whole body is revealed

From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, obesity can generally be divided into two categories: "false obesity" and "real obesity", commonly known as "false obesity" and "real obesity". The so-called "false fat" physique refers to obesity accompanied by fair skin, soft muscles, easy fatigue, excessive sweating and little urine, and sometimes edema of the lower limbs; "real fat" refers to obesity caused by excessive accumulation of fat in the body. The physique is relatively strong and is usually accompanied by constipation, high blood pressure, high blood lipids and other symptoms.

From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, the causes of obesity can be divided into two types: internal and external. The internal causes are "insufficient true yang, weak spleen qi, and internal retention of phlegm and dampness." External causes are caused by overeating and too little exercise. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the spleen controls muscles and can transport nutrients and digest food to nourish the whole body.

If the true yang is insufficient, the spleen fails to function properly, and the body's transportation and transformation functions are abnormal, it is easy for phlegm and dampness (i.e. fat) to accumulate in the body, causing obesity. Therefore, TCM treatment of obesity often focuses on strengthening the spleen, drying up dampness and resolving phlegm, and finding the most suitable method for individuals based on their different physical conditions.

【Commonly used acupoints for obesity】

● Head and face: Tongzigu point, Yingxiang point, Chengjiang point, Dicang point, Zanzhu point, Sibai point, Baihui point, Jiache point, Xiaguan point, Shuigu point, temples, Yifeng point.

● Neck and shoulders: Fengfu point, Jianjing point, Dazhui point, and Fengchi point.

● Chest and abdomen: Zhongwan point, Qihai point, Guanyuan point, Tianshu point, Shenque point, Shangwan point, Zhongji point, Wushu point, and Weidao point.

● Waist and back: Tianzong point, Bingfeng point, Quyuan point, Ganshu point, Weishu point, Sanjiaoshu point, Shenshu point, Qihai point, and Dachangshu point.

● Buttocks: Huantiao point and Zhibian point.

● Upper limbs: Shoulder bone point, Arm point, Quchi point, Waiguan point, Hegu point.

● Lower limbs: Fenglong point, Zusanli point, Xuehai point, Chengfu point, Yinmen point, Weizhong point, Kunlun point, Yinlingquan point, Sanyinjiao point, Taixi point, and Chengshan point.

【Massage method】

Face:

1. Press the Zanzhu point with your thumb for 30 seconds.

2. Press the Tongzi point with your index finger for 30 seconds.

3. Press Chengqi point with your index finger for 30 seconds.

4. Press the Sibai point with your index finger for 30 seconds.

5. Press and rub the Yingxiang point with your index finger for 30 seconds.

6. Use your index and middle fingers to massage the cheek-cartilage point for 30 seconds.

7. Press the Dicang point with your index finger for 30 seconds.

8. Use your index and middle fingers to press and rub the Xiaguan acupoint for 30 seconds.

9. Press Chengjiang point with your index finger for 30 seconds.

10. Press the four fingers of both hands on the forehead, and massage from the middle to the temples on both sides 10 to 15 times.

11. Use two fingers to apply from both sides of the nose to the temples 10 to 15 times.

12. Use three fingers to push from Yingxiang point to the front of the ear.

13. Use the four fingers of both hands to push and rub from Chengjiang point through Dicang point and Jiache point to Xiaguan point 10 to 15 times.

Neck and Shoulders:

1. Place the thumb and index, middle and ring fingers of one hand on the Fengchi acupoint. Use the four-finger method to hold the neck muscles, and lift them from top to bottom along the neck muscles to the shoulder well. Alternate between the two hands 10 to 15 times.

2. Press the Fengfu point with the thumbs of both hands, and use the thumb direct push method or finger rubbing method to push and rub from the inside to the outside through the Fengchi point to the Yifeng point behind the ear, and repeat the operation 10 to 15 times.

3. Use the index, middle and ring fingers of one hand to massage the Fengchi point, Yifeng point on the same side and the Jianjing point on the opposite side for 2 to 3 minutes, then change to the other hand and perform the same operation.

4. Place the palm of one hand on the Baihui point, and push from top to bottom along the midline of the head and neck, through the Fengfu point to the Dazhui point, and repeat 10 to 15 times.

5. Press lightly on the base of the neck with the base of one hand, and place the other four fingers and thumb on the clavicles on both sides. Use the pushing and wiping method with both hands alternately from bottom to top, until the local area is heated.

Chest and abdomen:

1. Press the Shangwan point with your index and middle fingers for 30 seconds.

2. Use your index and middle fingers to massage the Zhongwan point for 30 seconds.

3. Use your index and middle fingers to press and rub the Shenque point for 30 seconds.

4. Press and rub the Tianshu point with your index and middle fingers for 30 seconds.

5. Use the index and middle fingers to press and rub the Qihai point for 30 seconds.

6. Use the index and middle fingers to press and rub the Guanyuan point for 30 seconds.

7. Press and rub the Wushu point with your index and middle fingers for 30 seconds.

8. Use your index and middle fingers to press and rub the Weidao point for 30 seconds.

9. Use the palm method to lift the fat and muscle tissues of Zhong point, Tianshu point and Qihai point respectively, and do the shaking method. When lifting, the force should be deep and the area should be large. You can add twisting and pressing movements. When putting down, the technique should be gentle. Repeat the operation 10 to 15 times.

10. Place your palms or the base of your palms on your navel and massage in a clockwise direction for 3 to 4 minutes.

11. Rub your palms together to warm them up, and place them on the opposite side of the rib cage below the xiphoid process. Push from the inside to the outside along the lower edge of the ribs with the base of the palm or the entire palm, 15 to 20 times.

12. Use both hands to lift and release the rib muscles, using the five-finger method. When lifting, you can twist and knead with more force, and gradually repeat the operation from top to bottom 15 to 20 times.

Lower back:

1. Press Tianzong acupoint with three fingers for 1 minute. The strength ranges from light to heavy.

2. Press the Bingfeng point with three fingers for 1 minute. The strength ranges from light to heavy.

3. Press the Liver Shu point with the metacarpophalangeal joint or thumb for 1 minute. The strength ranges from light to heavy.

4. Press the Weishu point with the metacarpophalangeal joint or thumb for 1 minute. The strength ranges from light to heavy.

5. Press the Shenshu point with the metacarpophalangeal joint or thumb for 1 minute. The strength ranges from light to heavy.

6. Press the Dachangshu point with your thumb for 1 minute. The strength ranges from light to heavy.

7. Place one hand on the opposite scapular spine, and use the palm rubbing method to rub through the Jianjing point toward the chest. Repeat the operation 20 to 30 times, then switch to the other hand and perform the same operation.

8. Press the base of your palms on both sides of the spine on the back at the level of the Liver Shu points, and use the base of your palms to push straight down from the top to the waist, repeating the operation 20 to 30 times.

9. Make a fist with your hands and place it above the iliac spine on the same side, and tap horizontally to the opposite side, alternating between your hands 20 to 30 times.

10. Rub your palms together to warm them up, place them on both sides of your waist, and rub the waist muscles from the outside to the inside for 20 to 30 times.

Hips:

1. Use the palm kneading method or the base of the palm kneading method to massage the Zhibian point and Huantiao point on both sides clockwise or counterclockwise for 20 to 30 times.

2. Use five fingers to pinch the gluteal muscles on both sides. You can use a little more force. You can twist and press when pinching, and then slowly put them down. Lift and press, and repeat the operation 20 to 30 times.

3. Place your palms on the lumbar sacral area, and use the palm rubbing method to push and rub the fat on the buttocks back and forth until it is warm.

4. Place the base of your palm on the anterior superior iliac spine, and use the base of your palm to push straight from top to bottom along the buttocks to the outer and posterior thighs, plucking, pushing and rubbing, from light to heavy, until there is a local soreness and swelling sensation 10 to 15 times.

5. Place your palms on the lumbar sacral area, and rub them horizontally left and right until the heat is penetrated.

Upper limbs:

1. Use four or five fingers to hold the deltoid muscle, and gradually lift it down to the Quchi point. During the lifting process, you can do twisting and pressing movements. Repeat the operation 10 to 15 times.

2. Press and rub the shoulder points with your thumbs.

3. Use your index and middle fingers to massage the arm acupoints for 1 to 2 minutes.

4. Press the Waiguan point with your thumb for 1 to 2 minutes.

5. Place your palm on the inside of your shoulder, and use the thumb to push directly or rub your palm from top to bottom from the palm side of your upper limb to the wrist, and repeat 10 to 15 times.

6. Press the thumb of one hand on the upper end of the palm side of the opposite upper limb, pluck it with a little force, and gradually move it down to the forearm. Repeat the operation 10 times.

7. Pinch the Hegu point for 1 to 2 minutes.

Lower limbs:

1 Press and rub Chengshan acupoint for 30 seconds.

2 Use your thumb to massage the Fenglong point for 30 seconds.

3. Press and rub the Xuehai point with your thumb for 30 seconds.

4 Use your thumb to massage the Taixi point for 30 seconds.

5 Use five fingers to grasp the inner thigh muscles from top to bottom to the knee, and repeat the operation 10 to 15 times.

6 Use the full palm push method or palm rubbing method to push from the buttocks downward along the bladder meridian to the Weizhong point, and repeat the operation 10 to 15 times.

7. Use the whole palm or the base of the palm to push straight from the Weizhong point, through the Chengshan point to the Achilles tendon, and repeat the operation 10 to 15 times.

8. Use the base of your palms or fists to forcefully strike the inner and outer thigh muscles from top to bottom. Repeat 10 to 15 times.

Whole body weight loss massage method:

1. For spleen and stomach deficiency type, massage Qihai point, Guanyuan point and Zusanli point for 3 minutes each. This only takes the example of massaging Zusanli.

2. Press and rub the Yinlingquan point and Baihui point for 2 minutes each. This is just an example of massaging the Yinlingquan point.

3. For insufficient vital energy type, massage Sanyinjiao and Taixi points for 2 minutes. This only takes massaging the Sanyinjiao point as an example.

4. Rub Guanyuan acupoint and Zhongji acupoint for 2 minutes each. Just take massaging the Zhongji point as an example.

5. Lie flat on your back and breathe quickly with your abdomen. While exhaling, slowly lift your feet to an angle of 40° to 90° with your body. While inhaling, slowly lower your feet. Repeat 10 times. Finally, massage the Yinlingquan point for 2 minutes.
