No need to be greasy when eating tonic food: Nutritionist's light tonic food

When it’s cold, there’s nothing better than a pot of warm sesame oil chicken! However, for female friends who love beauty but are afraid of getting fat, greasy tonic soups with a thick layer of oil floating on them are a dietary taboo for maintaining a graceful figure, and they can never let go and enjoy the soups. Do tonic foods have to be greasy and high in calories? Nutritionists say that as long as you make good use of ingredients, you can eat delicious, healthy and burden-free winter tonics!

For female friends who love beauty but are afraid of getting fat, greasy tonic soups with a thick layer of oil floating on them are a dietary taboo for maintaining a graceful figure.

Less oil, less salt, less processing, you can lose weight without burden by taking supplements

Nutritionist Huang Xifen from Taipei City United Hospital Yang-Ming Branch said that if you want to eat more nutritiously and eat smartly, it is actually very simple! As long as you get rid of the traditional perception that you must eat greasy, high-calorie "three winter tonics" such as sesame oil chicken, ginger duck, and mutton hotpot; and abide by the five cooking principles of less oil, less salt, less processing, high fiber, and a balanced diet, you can eat tonic food and enjoy "thinness" without burden.

Nutritionist Huang Xiufen provides a modified version of the simple tonic recipe "Astragalus Angelica Fish Soup", and paired it with a homemade, versatile low-calorie "Mixed Spicy Mud Sauce" dipping sauce. The ingredients are simple to prepare and easy to make, for your reference:

【Astragalus and Angelica Fish Soup】

Ingredients: 1/2 slice of milkfish belly (70 grams), 7 grams of astragalus, 3 grams of angelica, 5 grams of wolfberry, 3 red dates, 5 grams of shredded ginger, 1 teaspoon of rice wine.

practice:

1. Wash the milkfish belly and Chinese medicinal materials (astragalus, angelica, wolfberry, red dates) separately and set aside.

2. Put all the ingredients into the rice cooker and add a cup of water outside the pot to stew until done.

Effect:

In traditional Chinese medicine theory, Angelica sinensis can nourish blood and promote blood circulation, regulate menstruation and relieve pain, moisturize the intestines, and improve qi and blood deficiency. It is often combined with qi-tonifying herbs to help improve qi stagnation and blood stasis. Boiled together with astragalus, a holy product for replenishing qi, red dates, which can nourish the middle and replenish qi, and ginger, which can warm the stomach, nourish the blood and calm the nerves, it is very effective in regulating the body's weak qi and blood, cold hands and feet, and insufficient yang energy in winter.

Nutritionist Huang Xiufen emphasized that this soup is made by adding Chinese medicinal herbs with unique flavors such as astragalus, wolfberry, red dates, and angelica, and cooking them together with fresh, slightly salty milkfish belly. Not only is the soup sweet and fresh, but you can also enjoy the delicious taste of the fish soup even without adding salt!

【Mixed spicy sauce】

Ingredients: 1 green onion, 1 small piece of ginger, 4-5 cloves of garlic, 1/2 tablespoon of sesame oil, 1/2 teaspoon of low-sodium salt.

practice:

1. Wash the green onions, cut into chopped green onions and set aside.

2. Wash and peel the ginger, grind it into a paste and set aside.

3. Take 4-5 cloves of garlic, smash them, peel them and chop them into fine pieces.

4. Mix all the above ingredients, then add low sodium salt and sesame oil and mix well.

Effect:

This dipping sauce is made with Chinese spices that are easily available in our daily diet, such as onions, ginger, and garlic, supplemented with low-sodium salt and sesame oil. Not only are the ingredients simple to use, but since most of the ingredients are natural spices, compared with common dipping sauces such as shacha sauce, bean paste, and peanut butter, the sodium and fat content is relatively much lower, and the calories are also quite low. Even if you apply a thick layer of it, you can still eat it safely and without burden.
