Postpartum fat loss! Chen Yangjin shares 6 weight loss principles

Those who follow Grace Chen Yangjin's FB fan page should have sensed her recent determination to go to the gym and exercise. Since September, Grace began to try exercise at the invitation of a friend. In just three months, she has personally experienced the benefits of exercise and her body lines have changed significantly. She laughed and said, "I gained more than 20 kilograms after I got pregnant. Many people ridiculed me for not being able to lose weight back, but I just can't stand being excited, so I had to lose weight back to show you. I am now 51 kilograms, and I am only 2 kilograms away from returning to my pre-pregnancy weight."

Grace weighed 43 kilograms at her thinnest time. Looking back now, she feels that she was too thin at the time. She was busy with work and had no exercise habits. She even got out of breath when climbing stairs. At first, Grace fell in love with exercise in order to wear beautiful clothes, but after starting to exercise, she came across a lot of health information. She felt that since she was exercising, she should also eat healthier to make the effort not in vain, so she came up with her own weight loss plan.

[Grace Chen's healthy weight loss principles]

Principle 1: Don’t force yourself

To develop a habit of exercise, you must first make yourself fall in love with exercise. When I first started going to the gym, I was busy opening a store. Although I didn't get much sleep during that period, I felt very energetic because I exercised and released stress in a timely manner. I also developed an exercise habit smoothly and didn't give up. Because I lost weight, my whole family started exercising, which was another benefit.

Principle 2: Exercise for 1 hour every day

While my daughter Toby is sleeping in the afternoon, I will seize the time to exercise. I require myself to stay on the machine for an hour. Recently, I like the rowing machine and step training because brisk walking doesn't make me sweat much, so I need to increase the intensity. In fact, the exercise time does not need to be long, as long as it is effective. The most important thing is to have the correct posture. Remember to use the right place and focus on the movements, the effect will be better.

Principle 3: Set goals and gradually increase exercise intensity

Because I had a caesarean section, it is the most difficult to lose weight back to my belly, so I want to work out my abdominal lines before considering having a second child, otherwise my belly will get bigger and I won’t be able to get it back. At first, I would go to the gym with my friends and briskly walk on the treadmill. Now I do aerobic exercise, coaching classes, and NTC. Changing the content of my exercise is more interesting and prevents me from getting bored with exercise. On the other hand, the effect is much better than just brisk walking.

Principle 4: Eat only 5 bites of dessert

If you want to speed up your weight loss, in addition to exercise, you must also coordinate your diet. I have to completely avoid refined starch, cakes, white rice, pasta, sugar... I can't eat anything fried, deep-fried, or braised, but I won't make it that hard for myself. I eat sweets in 5 bites or less. I get to eat them and enjoy the process. When people ask me if they taste good, at least I know what it tastes like, but I won't finish it.

Principle 5: Eat more boiled food or salad

The reason why my recent results are so obvious is that during class, my coach kept asking me what time I had my meals. What to eat? So now I just eat boiled food or salad, less oil and salt, more protein, and try to have brown rice, whole grains, and sweet potatoes as starch as possible. If I exercise every day, I will see the results quickly. When you get used to the food, you will feel that the food outside is very oily, and when you see the changes in your body shape, you will be very happy and more motivated to keep going.

Principle 6 / Monthly detox light meal day

Of course, it is unavoidable to have a big meal or eat out occasionally, so choosing 1 to 3 days each month to eat a light diet to detoxify the body is also very effective. For example, you can replace one of the three meals with cold-pressed juice, or only eat juice as a main meal for three consecutive days to keep your body light, but you still need to make adjustments based on your physical condition.
