Is menstrual back pain normal?

Is menstrual back pain normal?

Menstruation generally refers to menstruation. Whether menstrual back pain is normal depends on the specific situation. If it disappears with the menstrual symptoms, it is generally normal. If the back pain continues to worsen, it is generally abnormal and may be caused by endometritis, endometrial polyps, endometriosis, lumbar disc herniation, etc.

1. Normal:

Menstruation is the periodic shedding of the female endometrium, which causes pelvic congestion. Due to the stimulation of local nerves, patients are prone to back pain during menstruation, which is a normal physiological phenomenon. After the menstruation ends, it can be relieved without special treatment and maintaining a good lifestyle.

2. Abnormality:

1. Endometritis: It is mainly caused by pathogenic microorganisms breaking through the cervical defense and invading the endometrium. Under repeated inflammatory stimulation, the menstrual volume increases, accompanied by symptoms of dysmenorrhea and menstrual back pain. It can be treated with drugs such as ceftriaxone sodium, amoxicillin sodium, and penicillin sodium as recommended by the doctor.

2. Endometrial polyps: Mainly caused by excessively high estrogen levels, repeated inflammatory stimulation, etc. As endometrial polyps gradually increase, they are likely to compress local tissues, causing back pain symptoms and accompanied by menstrual abnormalities. They can be treated through endometrial resection under the doctor's surgery.

3. Endometriosis: It is a common gynecological disease, which may be caused by retrograde menstruation, low immunity and other reasons. Patients are prone to lower abdominal pain and dysmenorrhea, and the pain will radiate to the back, causing menstrual back pain. If the patient has no fertility needs, it can be treated by hysterectomy.

4. Lumbar disc herniation: Lumbar degenerative changes can easily compress local nerves. During menstruation, pelvic congestion can aggravate the symptoms of lumbar disc herniation, which can manifest as menstrual back pain. Under the doctor's surgery, it can be treated through transforaminal endoscopic discectomy.

If it is caused by pathological factors, active treatment is needed to prevent the symptoms from continuing to develop and affecting physical health.
