The topic of teachers not being allowed to attend farewell banquets has been a hot topic recently. Every June is the graduation season when the phoenix flowers bloom. To thank teachers for their hard work in teaching, students always hold farewell banquets to express their gratitude to them. Usually a teacher has to teach several classes on average. If a teacher eats at the farewell dinners hosted by several classes, how much weight will he or she gain? Therefore, the graduation season for students also becomes a season for teachers to transform their bodies.

The results of the "2009 National Health Interview Survey" conducted by the National Health Bureau of the Department of Health found that 27.4% of teachers aged 20 and above are overweight or obese, with the proportion of overweight and obese male teachers reaching 46.4% and 18.2% for female teachers.

Teachers' overweight and obesity may be related to students, because when graduation season comes, teachers always receive several invitations to farewell banquets. Taking the most popular European buffet as an example, one meal can contain 2,500 to 3,000 calories. If a teacher teaches five classes and holds five teacher appreciation banquets a week, he or she may gain 1.2 to 1.6 kilograms.

For a typical 10-course Chinese set meal, a person would consume at least 1,600 calories. For a teacher who is lightly active and weighs 60 kg, the average daily meal requires 600 calories. The extra 1,000 calories can only be consumed by walking for 5.4 hours. Therefore, the National Health Administration has specially promoted the "Five Tips for Farewell Banquets for Teachers" during the graduation season, so that teachers and students can eat happily and without burden. The five tips are:

1. "Low-fat, high-fiber": Reduce high-fat ingredients and processed foods, and give priority to high-fiber and seasonal fresh ingredients.

2. "Less salt and less oil": Try to use cooking methods such as steaming and blanching, reduce frying, frying, drizzling with oil, and thickening, and reduce the use of salt and oil.

3. "Sugar-free beverages": It is encouraged to drink more boiled water, or sugar-free beverages (such as sugar-free tea, sugar-free black coffee), and freshly squeezed fruit juice without sugar to avoid consuming too many calories.

4. "Fresh Fruit": Remember to pick a seasonal fruit as a snack after the meal so that teachers and students can replenish the daily intake of fruits and vegetables.

5. "More recreational activities": Invite teachers to the stage to sing and dance with students, or lead everyone in group recreational activities. After dinner, you can also invite teachers and students to tour the campus together, which not only enhances mutual friendship but also increases physical activity.
