Jin Meilin, a nutritionist at the Linsen Branch of Taipei United Hospital, said that eating a healthy and nutritious breakfast can add to your energy for the whole day. Although eating high-starch, high-fat, and high-sugar foods frequently is delicious and easy to obtain, the extra calories you take in over time may cause you to gain weight. In a short period of time, the blood sugar index in your body will soar, causing you to feel tired and sleepy, which will affect your energy at work during the day.

Nutritionist Jin Meilin recommends that if time permits, you can buy carrots, apples and other fruits in advance, spend 10 more minutes in the morning to peel them and put them in the juicer to make about 500cc of carrot and apple juice, which is rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, calcium, sodium, magnesium, iron and other mineral components. It is very helpful to enhance immunity, promote metabolism and gastrointestinal motility. Paired with whole wheat toast or steamed bread, it is a nutritious and healthy breakfast.

Carrot Apple Juice

[Ingredients]: 200 grams of carrots, 50 grams of pineapple, 100 grams of apples, and honey.

[Preparation]: Put carrots, pineapple and apples into the juicer in order to squeeze the juice; after completion, add honey to taste.

Nutritionist Jin Meilin added that carrot apple juice is not only suitable for people who want to lose weight, but can also be consumed by children, pregnant women and the elderly. It is recommended to drink freshly made fruit and vegetable juice within a short period of time to avoid leaving it for too long, as light and temperature will destroy the effectiveness of the vitamins and reduce the nutritional value. It is best to wash and peel the apples so that you can absorb the rich phytonutrients in the skin.
