What to do if you have stomach pain after miscarriage

What to do if you have stomach pain after miscarriage?

Abdominal pain after miscarriage is a more common phenomenon, mainly due to uterine damage and the need for the uterus to contract to its original state. You can consider using drugs to promote uterine contraction. If there is an abdominal infection, antibiotics are needed for treatment; if there is miscarriage or incomplete medical abortion, a second uterine curettage is required.

1. Whether it is artificial abortion or natural abortion, it will cause great harm to the uterus, so stomach pain is a common phenomenon. Some women have been pregnant for a long time, so the uterus needs to contract after abortion and needs to return to the state before pregnancy, so uterine contraction pain will occur, which usually lasts for about 2 to 3 days. At this time, there is no need to use special painkillers. You can consider using some drugs to promote uterine contraction to reduce the pain time.

2. If the pain after abortion lasts for a long time, first of all, you need to rule out whether there is infection after abortion. Common infections after abortion include endometritis. Once an infection occurs, relevant examinations are required, generally blood tests and C-reactive protein tests are required. Once the infection is confirmed, timely treatment is required. Mild patients can take oral antibiotics. If the infection is serious, it is necessary to be treated with intravenous antibiotics and other anti-infective drugs in the hospital.

3. Severe stomach pain after abortion, continued increase in vaginal discharge, and prolonged vaginal discharge may also be caused by incomplete abortion, which means that part of the embryonic tissue in the uterus has not been completely discharged, which can easily cause infection or inflammation. In this case, we need to go to the hospital for examination immediately. Once it is determined that the embryonic tissue has not been completely discharged, a uterine curettage operation needs to be performed immediately, and appropriate medications should be used.
