Cervical erosion is ectopia of the cervical columnar epithelium. Cervicitis and ectopia of the cervical columnar epithelium are not the same thing.

Whether cervicitis and cervical columnar epithelium ectopia are the same thing:

Cervicitis is mainly caused by infected abortion, cervical injury or foreign bodies, usually infecting the cervical columnar epithelium and causing mucopurulent cervicitis. The main manifestations are increased vaginal discharge, mucopurulent leucorrhea with a peculiar smell, and symptoms such as sexual intercourse pain, contact bleeding, vulvar itching and burning sensation may also occur. Most cases of cervical columnar epithelium ectopia are physiological, generally without discomfort symptoms, and some patients will experience contact bleeding. Although cervicitis can cause cervical columnar epithelium ectopia, the two are not the same thing.

Treatment of cervicitis and cervical columnar epithelium ectopia:

1. Cervicitis: Patients with cervicitis can take anti-cervicitis tablets, cervicitis tablets, or use Baofukang suppositories and other drugs topically for treatment under the guidance of a doctor.

2. Cervical columnar epithelium ectopia: If there are no discomfort symptoms, cervical columnar epithelium ectopia generally does not require treatment. If it is complicated by infection, you can take levofloxacin tablets, Gongyanping tablets and other drugs for treatment as prescribed by the doctor.
