How does ovarian cyst affect fertility and how to treat it

What impact do ovarian cysts have on fertility? How can they be treated?

The effects of ovarian cysts on fertility are as follows:

1. When ovarian cysts grow too fast and too large, it will affect the blood supply and ovulation of the ovaries.

2. When some ovarian cysts are acutely or chronically twisted and ruptured, it will affect the blood transport and necrosis of the ovaries, and then ovarian dysfunction and non-ovulation will occur. If it is bilateral, the impact will be greater.

3. Some ovarian cysts have endocrine functions, such as ovarian thyroid tumor, ovarian granulosa, theca cell tumor, testicular blastoma, etc., which can produce some corresponding hormones, interfering with the normal secretion of ovarian hormones and causing ovulation, amenorrhea, uterine bleeding, hirsutism and other symptoms.

4. Some malignant or huge ovarian tumors will destroy most of the ovarian tissues, leading to infertility, such as ovarian dysfunction, anovulation, adhesion to surrounding tissues, blockage of fallopian tubes, etc. Ovarian cysts can be cured by effective and reasonable treatment methods, and there is basically no effect on fertility after cure.

Treatments for ovarian cysts include:

1. Surgical treatment: Generally speaking, if the cyst is less than 5 cm in diameter and there is no evidence of a tumor, it is mostly a functional cyst and can be closely followed up, that is, checked every 2-3 months; if the cyst is larger than 5 cm in diameter, it is mostly an ovarian tumor and generally requires surgical treatment;

2. Treatment by Traditional Chinese Medicine: Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that ovarian cysts are mainly caused by the following factors: Phlegm and blood stasis, anxiety; coldness during the stagnation of qi and blood or after childbirth, coldness causes blood stasis, and if blood stasis lasts for a long time, it will turn into cancer.

3. Modern treatments: Currently, ovarian cysts are treated with surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, etc.
