Is pelvic effusion contagious?

1. Pelvic effusion is the presence of inflammatory exudate in the pelvic cavity. It can occur after inflammation of the endometrium. The slightly viscous fluid exudates from the swollen cells of the endometrial tissue and is gradually wrapped by the surrounding tissue to form a cystic mass. Pelvic effusion can occur after pelvic inflammatory disease, adnexitis or endometriosis. According to pathological factors, it can be divided into physiological pelvic effusion and pathological pelvic effusion. Pathological pelvic effusion is more harmful. Once a woman finds abnormal pelvic effusion, she should go to the hospital for treatment in time.

2. Pelvic effusion is different from vaginitis and sexually transmitted diseases, and it is not directly transmitted through sexual intercourse. Except for the acute attack period, patients with chronic pelvic effusion can have moderate sexual intercourse, with the exception of patients who use vaginal medication during treatment, who can recover after stopping the medication. If you feel obvious discomfort during intercourse, you must go to a professional and regular hospital to consult a professional doctor in time.

3. Chronic pelvic effusion is caused by the failure to thoroughly treat acute pelvic effusion or the patient's poor physical condition, which leads to prolonged illness. It is not a sexually transmitted disease. Therefore, there is no need to completely prohibit sexual life during treatment, and it will not be transmitted to sexual partners through sexual life. However, sexual intercourse should be prohibited during the treatment of acute pelvic effusion.

4. Although pelvic effusion is generally not transmitted through the above channels, if it is not treated in time, it may cause other reproductive diseases. Many women also call it infectious, but in fact it can be said to be a spreading infection. This spreading form of infection usually spreads through the lymphatic system, blood circulation, and spreads upward along the genital mucosa and infects adjacent organs.
