Does ovarian cyst cause ascites?

Early ovarian cysts do not have particularly obvious symptoms, so many people ignore them and miss the best treatment period. So, can ovarian cysts cause ascites?

Ovarian tumors can occur at any age, but are more common in women of childbearing age. They are common gynecological tumors, accounting for 32% of female genital tumors. 1. Intra-abdominal mass

The biggest feature of abdominal masses smaller than medium size without complications or malignant transformation is mobility. They often move from the pelvic cavity to the abdominal cavity. The masses are generally not tender. However, if there are complications or malignant transformation, not only will the mass itself be tender, but there may even be peritoneal irritation.

2. Ascites sign

Ascites is often caused by malignant tumors, but benign cysts such as ovarian fibroma and papillary cystadenoma can also produce ascites, and endocrine symptoms include hirsutism, hoarseness of voice, and clitoral hypertrophy.

3. Cachexia

It is characterized by an extremely distended abdomen, marked weight loss, a painful facial expression, and severe exhaustion.

Ovarian cysts can cause ascites, leading to compression symptoms. Giant ovarian tumors can cause dyspnea and palpitations, and large amounts of ascites can also cause these symptoms. However, dyspnea in some patients with ovarian tumors is caused by pleural effusion on one or both sides; this is usually combined with ascites to form the so-called Meigs syndrome with ascites.
