1. Phlegm and dampness

Symptoms: lower abdominal mass, sometimes painful, soft when pressed, more vaginal discharge. If the patient is cold, the vaginal discharge will be white and sticky, the patient will be afraid of cold, the chest will be stuffy, the patient will urinate frequently, the tongue coating will be white and greasy, the tongue will be dark purple, and the pulse will be thin, moist and slippery.

If the patient is hot, the vaginal discharge will be yellow and sticky, with a foul odor, or even like pus, and there will be chest tightness and irritability, fever and thirst, less urine and yellow color, a yellow and greasy tongue coating, a red tongue, and a stringy or slippery and rapid pulse.

Treatment: Regulating Qi, resolving phlegm, and eliminating symptoms

Prescription: Erchen decoction with added ingredients: 20g of processed Pinellia, 15g of dried orange peel, 15g of Poria, 10g of Citrus aurantium, 10g of Cyperus rotundus, 15g of Ligusticum chuanxiong, 25g of Trigonosciadium japonicum, 25g of Curcuma zedoaria, 10g of Aucklandia lappa, 10g of Atractylodes lancea, and 10g of Licorice.

For those with spleen deficiency, add 15g of Codonopsis pilosula and 10g of Atractylodes macrocephala; if the leucorrhea is yellow, remove Cyperus rotundus and Atractylodes lancea, and add 15g of Patrinia scabra and 15g of Scutellaria baicalensis.

2. Qi stagnation

Symptoms: lower abdominal distension, the mass is not hard, it can be moved by pushing, it may go up or down, the pain is not fixed. The tongue coating is thin, white and moist, and the pulse is deep and stringy.

Treatment method: Promote qi circulation, remove stagnation, activate blood circulation and eliminate symptoms

Prescription: Xiangleng Pills with modifications. 10g of costusroot, 15g of cloves, 25g of three-edged lancea, 15g of bitter orange, 25g of curcuma, 10g of green peel, 15g of Chuanlianzi, 15g of fennel, can be decocted in water or ground into powder and made into water pills for oral administration.

For irregular menstruation, add 20g of Danshen and 15g of Cyperus rotundus. For excessive vaginal discharge, add 15g of Poria cocos, 15g of Coix seed, and 10g of Angelica dahurica.

If the abdominal pain is severe, add 15g of Corydalis yanhusuo and 15g of Panax notoginseng.

3. Blood stasis

Symptoms: The mass in the uterus is hard and fixed, painful and resistant to pressure, accompanied by a dull complexion, dry skin, heavy or delayed menstruation, dry mouth and no desire to drink. The tongue is red with petechiae on the edges, and the pulse is deep and sluggish.

Treatment method: Promote blood circulation, remove blood stasis, eliminate symptoms and disperse nodules.

Prescription: Guiji Fuling Pills with modifications. 15g of cinnamon twig, 20g of Poria cocos, 20g of moutan bark, 15g of peony root, 15g of peach kernel. Can be decocted in water for internal use, or ground into fine powder and made into water pills for internal use.

For excessive menstruation or metrorrhagia, add 15g of Typhae Pollen and 20g of Ophiopogon japonicus; for excessive vaginal discharge, add 15g of Coix seed and 10g of Angelica dahurica.

If the abdominal pain is severe, add 15g of Corydalis yanhusuo, 15g of frankincense, and 15g of myrrh.
