Are polycystic ovarian cysts serious? What are the dangers?

Strictly speaking, polycystic ovarian cysts are not a disease, but a syndrome. Strong ovarian function begins to gradually appear after puberty. Women's breasts, waists, and buttocks are all related to the estrogen secreted by the ovaries. Typical clinical manifestations are anovulatory menstrual disorders, such as amenorrhea, functional uterine bleeding, sparse menstruation or anovulatory menstruation, usually accompanied by hirsutism, obesity, infertility, bilateral ovarian growth or unilateral ovarian growth and changes in some hormone levels. As long as polycystic ovarian cysts are treated and controlled in time, they are not very serious, and patients should seek medical attention in time.

The hazards of polycystic ovarian cysts are as follows:

1. Premature aging: If ovarian cysts are not treated for a long time, it will cause endocrine disorders in women, dull face, and premature aging. Subsequently, the face will be bloodless, have acne spots, yellow face, and thin muscles, which will become unbearable for female patients.

2. Fertility difficulties: Ovarian cysts will gradually grow larger, affecting the combination of sperm and eggs, making it impossible to conceive normally, leading to infertility. Ovarian function gradually declines, menstruation stops, there is no fresh cell flow in the ovaries, the egg survival rate is extremely low, and sperm cannot land normally, inducing infertility.

3. Prone to miscarriage: Women with ovarian cysts in early pregnancy are prone to miscarriage, and may experience difficult labor when the cysts become larger.

4. Malignant changes: The continuous increase of ovarian cysts will cause external bacteria and viruses to cause ovarian infection, leading to edema, congestion, inflammation, etc. The possibility of malignant changes directly threatens the patient's life safety.
