Does ovarian cyst require surgery? What should I pay attention to after the surgery?

If the ovarian cyst is of two types, solid or cystic in texture, such as large size and fast growth, it is best to remove it as soon as possible to avoid future problems; on the other hand, if the ovarian cyst is non-neoplastic, such as serous cyst, mucous cyst and dermoid cyst, these are benign, small in size, and generally no more than 5 cm in diameter. These cysts usually disappear in a short time due to fluid absorption or rupture of the cyst wall, so no surgery is required.

However, you must strengthen observation and check again after a few menstrual periods. If the cyst continues to increase and compression symptoms such as frequent urination, difficulty urinating, flatulence or constipation occur, it is recommended that you discuss with your gynecologist whether to undergo surgical removal.

Postoperative attention:

1. Avoid eating greasy food. Because fat will accumulate, the wound will not heal quickly, and the resistance to bacteria will also be weakened.

2. Increase protein intake. Protein can help wounds heal quickly and increase physical strength. You can choose fish because fish is easier to digest and absorb.

3. Eat an appropriate amount of vegetables and fruits. Vegetables and fruits are rich in minerals and vitamins, which can improve resistance and help wounds heal quickly.

4. Drink plenty of water. Sufficient water can ensure good blood circulation, help detoxify in time, and keep the body functioning normally.

5. Avoid eating foods that can cause bloating, such as onions, soy products and delicacies.
