How to treat dysmenorrhea

How to treat dysmenorrhea

Dysmenorrhea can be treated with general treatment, oral medication, surgery, etc. The specific treatment method should be determined according to the severity of dysmenorrhea.

Treatments for dysmenorrhea:

1. General treatment: There are many causes of dysmenorrhea. The most common clinical causes include cold abdomen, inflammatory infection, endometriosis, etc. The main symptoms are lower abdominal pain, heaviness, and pulling pain before or during menstruation. For patients with dysmenorrhea, they should eliminate tension and anxiety, maintain adequate sleep, regular moderate exercise, quit smoking and other living habits to relieve pain. At the same time, you can also use a hot water bottle to apply heat to the abdomen, which can accelerate local blood circulation and relieve pain.

2. Oral medications: For patients with dysmenorrhea, they can take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen sustained-release capsules and meloxicam tablets under the guidance of a doctor, which can effectively inhibit prostaglandin synthesis and achieve analgesic effects.

3. Surgery: If dysmenorrhea is caused by adenomyosis, endometriosis, etc., and the patient has a desire to have children, she can go to the hospital for lesion resection, which can effectively relieve the pain. And for dysmenorrhea caused by cervical stenosis, cervical dilation can also be performed.

Things to note for dysmenorrhea:

During menstruation, you should maintain good personal hygiene, avoid strenuous activities and eating raw, cold, and irritating foods, so as not to aggravate the symptoms of dysmenorrhea.
