What is the cause of ovarian cyst accumulation? What are the symptoms?

Ovarian cysts and fluid accumulation may be caused by pelvic inflammatory disease, which generally refers to inflammation of the reproductive tract and surrounding tissues, mainly including endometritis, salpingitis, tubo-ovarian abscess, and pelvic peritonitis. Pelvic inflammatory disease can be acute or chronic.

Ovarian cysts can be physiological, that is, normal, which disappear naturally with the changes in the menstrual cycle, or pathological, which are cysts formed due to disease. Physiological cysts do not require surgery, but pathological cysts often require surgery to make a clear diagnosis and take appropriate treatment.

1. Discomfort in the lower abdomen: This is the initial symptom before the patient feels a lower abdominal mass. Due to the weight of the tumor itself and the influence of intestinal peristalsis and changes in body position, the tumor moves in the pelvic cavity, pulling on its pedicle and pelvic funnel ligament, causing the patient to feel distension and falling in the lower abdomen or iliac fossa.

2. Increased abdominal circumference and abdominal mass: These are the most common complaints. The patient notices that his clothes or belt seem too tight, and then notices the enlargement of the abdomen, or feels it by chance in the morning, so he presses his abdomen and finds a mass in the abdomen, plus abdominal distension and discomfort.

3. Abdominal pain: If the tumor has no complications, there is little pain. Patients with ovarian tumors feel abdominal pain, especially when it occurs suddenly, which is mostly caused by tumor pedicle twisting, or occasionally tumor rupture, bleeding or infection. Malignant cysts often cause abdominal pain and leg pain, and the pain often causes patients to seek emergency treatment.
