What causes cervical hypertrophy?

What causes cervical hypertrophy?

Cervical hypertrophy is usually caused by cervical cysts, cervical injury, inflammatory stimulation and other reasons.

Causes of cervical hypertrophy:

1. Cervical gland cyst: Cervical gland cyst usually refers to the stenosis or obstruction of the cervical gland duct, which leads to the obstruction of the drainage of glandular secretions and the retention of pigs in the cervical opening, causing cystic lesions. Most patients have physiological changes of the cervix. For patients with cervical gland cyst, if the cyst exists deep in the gland, it is easy to cause cervical hypertrophy.

2. Cervical injury: Cervical hypertrophy may also occur in women with cervical injury. For example, women may suffer from slight damage to the cervix due to multiple pregnancies or artificial abortions, which cannot return to normal state, which can easily cause cervical hypertrophy.

3. Inflammatory stimulation: Most patients with cervical hypertrophy are caused by chronic inflammatory long-term stimulation. For example, when patients suffer from chronic cervicitis or pelvic inflammatory disease, the inflammation will stimulate the cervix, causing repeated congestion and edema of the cervical tissue. When inflammatory cells infiltrate into the fibrous connective tissue, it will cause the cervix to enlarge and harden, thereby causing cervical hypertrophy.

Things to note about cervical hypertrophy:

Patients with cervical hypertrophy should develop good hygiene habits in daily life, pay attention to their own symptoms, go to the hospital for regular check-ups, and if obvious discomfort symptoms occur, they should receive standardized treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
