What's wrong with having less menstrual flow at 45?

Oligomenorrhea Oligomenorrhea is a condition in which the menstrual cycle is basically normal, but the menstrual flow is significantly reduced, or even spot clean; or the menstrual period is shortened to less than two days, and the menstrual flow is small, which is called "oligomenorrhea". This is a menstrual disease. Oligomenorrhea is often seen with late menstruation, often accompanied by weight gain. This disease occurs in adolescence and childbearing age, and can develop into amenorrhea, and often enters menopause during menopause.

Oligomenorrhea refers to less menstrual volume than normal people, which is mostly caused by blood deficiency, qi stagnation, blood stasis, condensed blood vessels, phlegm obstruction and other reasons. The causes of oligomenorrhea are both deficiency and excess. Deficiency is mostly caused by physical weakness, serious illness, long-term illness, blood loss or dietary fatigue, spleen damage or room fatigue, kidney damage, resulting in insufficient blood sea and reduced menstrual volume; excess is mostly caused by blood stasis, phlegm dampness, meridian blockage, poor blood circulation, and reduced menstrual blood.

Oligomenorrhea can be seen with abnormal cycles, such as scanty menstruation or scanty menstruation in the late period. If oral contraceptives or intramuscular contraceptive injections cause oligomenorrhea, the medication should be stopped and treatment can be referred to this disease. The diagnosis of oligomenorrhea generally refers to more than two consecutive occurrences. If it has always been normal and suddenly becomes too scanty, attention should be paid to threatened abortion in early pregnancy, or a small amount of vaginal bleeding from ectopic pregnancy, and further related examinations must be performed to identify it.
