Yellow watery vaginal discharge is yellow or yellow-green, sticky or foamy, and has a foul odor. Most of them are caused by vaginal inflammation, among which Trichomonas vaginitis is the most common, and is often accompanied by vulvar itching. It can also be seen in cases of cervicitis, senile vaginitis, endometritis, mesothelioma, or foreign bodies in the vagina. Purulent leucorrhea often occurs after persistent vaginal bleeding. If a large amount of purulent and foul-smelling leucorrhea flows out of the vagina, advanced cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, or submucosal myoma with infection should be considered first; if the discharge is intermittent, the possibility of fallopian tube cancer should be noted. Cheese-like or tofu-like leucorrhea is a typical phenomenon of candidal vaginitis, often accompanied by severe vulvar itching. Bloody leucorrhea mixed with blood or blood clots should alert you to the possibility of malignant tumors such as cervical cancer and endometrial cancer. However, benign lesions such as cervical polyps, cervical erosion, submucosal myoma, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, urethral caruncle, senile vaginitis, etc. can also cause bloody leucorrhea, so you should be careful to distinguish them. Insertion of an intrauterine device can also cause a small amount of bleeding. Urinary dysfunction with increased leucorrhea is a typical symptom of gonorrhea infection. Leucorrhea, like urethral secretions, is increased in volume, yellow and purulent, and presents a strong inflammatory reaction. Cervicitis caused by chlamydia has lower leucorrhea viscosity and increased white serous cervical secretions. |
