What causes ovulation bleeding?

Ovulation bleeding refers to vaginal bleeding during ovulation. There are several possible causes of ovulation bleeding:

1. Follicle rupture and bleeding: The ovulation period is the period when the egg is released from the ovary. When the follicle ruptures, it may cause a small amount of bleeding.

2. Corpus luteum rupture and bleeding: After ovulation, the corpus luteum formed in the ovary may rupture, causing a small amount of bleeding.

3. Weak endometrium: For some women, the endometrium may become thinner during ovulation, making bleeding more likely.

4. Bleeding caused by sex: When having sex during ovulation, a small amount of bleeding may occur due to congestion of the cervical and vaginal tissues.

5. Hormonal changes: During ovulation, the ovaries release a large amount of estrogen. This hormonal change may cause a small amount of bleeding.

6. Other reasons: Ovulation bleeding may also be caused by diseases such as cervical inflammation and endometriosis.
