Physical examination HPV cervical erosion

HPV is human papillomavirus, and cervical erosion is medically known as cervical columnar epithelial ectopia. Physical examinations reveal that HPV infection and cervical columnar epithelial ectopia are not necessarily caused by disease factors, but may also be normal phenomena, and need to be judged in combination with TCT (liquid-based thin layer cell test) results.

1. Non-pathological causes

Normal women may carry HPV in their vagina, but most of them are low-risk HPV, which will not cause any discomfort symptoms, so no intervention is required. However, cervical columnar epithelium ectopia is caused by the effect of estrogen, which causes the columnar epithelium at the end of the cervical canal to move outward to the surface of the cervix. It is a physiological change and generally does not require special treatment.

2. Pathological causes

1. Persistent HPV infection: If high-risk HPV infection is found through examination, the risk of cervical cancer may increase. It is recommended to further perform colposcopy to take a biopsy and send it for pathological examination to confirm the diagnosis. According to the results, recombinant human interferon α2b injection and other drugs should be used for treatment according to the doctor's advice. If necessary, surgical resection of the lesion is required.

2. TCT abnormality: If the cervical TCT is accompanied by inflammatory reactive cell changes or low-grade or high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions, or even early invasive cancer, a colposcopy-based cervical biopsy should be performed to clarify the nature of the disease, and then targeted measures should be taken for treatment as prescribed by the doctor.

3. Chronic inflammation: The main manifestation is increased leucorrhea, which is light yellow or purulent, accompanied by odor, and sometimes itching. You can follow the doctor's advice to apply local medications such as Baofukang gel and Xiaomi suppositories, or you can choose microwave, laser, freezing and other treatments.

4. Other conditions: such as cervical polyps, cervical adenoid cysts, etc., which may also manifest as the above conditions during physical examinations. Patients often have symptoms such as increased secretions and contact bleeding. They can be treated with liposuction knife, self-coagulation knife and other methods according to the doctor's advice.

In daily life, you should pay attention to personal hygiene and wash your underwear frequently to avoid worsening the infection. In addition, you should also have regular checkups to understand the progress of the disease.
