In modern society, people's sexual attitudes are becoming more and more open. With the development of online information, many diseases are gradually lowering the age threshold and becoming more and more common among younger women. Cervical erosion has always been a common disease among many married women. Nowadays, young girls in their teens have also become targets of cervical erosion. So, what are the causes of cervical erosion in girls? 1. Excessive hormone levels The female cervix has a very special physiological structure. The surface of the cervix is covered with two types of epithelium: squamous epithelium and columnar epithelium. The squamous epithelium is connected to the vagina downwards, and the columnar epithelium is connected to the cervical canal upwards. The junction of the two epithelia is called the transitional zone. The transitional zone moves with the body's environment, hormones, inflammation and other factors. "For example, young women and pregnant women have high estrogen levels in their bodies, which can cause the columnar epithelium to move outwards. When the entire surface of the cervix is covered by squamous epithelium, the cervix will appear pink and very smooth. Once the cervix is covered by the outward-moving columnar epithelium, doctors will see red, rough tissue during gynecological examinations, which is a cervical erosion-like change. The medical community now uses "cervical columnar epithelium ectopia" instead of "cervical erosion". A cervix with this change is still a normal cervix and does not require any medication or surgery. Simple erosion-like changes will neither affect life and fertility, nor will they increase the incidence of cervical cancer. Under some physiological conditions, such as adolescence, menstrual disorders (especially long-term disorders of sex hormone secretion), the use of contraceptive drugs, pregnancy, etc., due to the long-term increase in estrogen levels in the body or the interference of external sex hormones, the columnar epithelium of the cervical canal proliferates ectopically, forming fine granules that resemble erosion. This "cervical erosion" will disappear automatically by adjusting the menstrual cycle to normal, stopping the use of contraceptive drugs, or waiting for half a year after the end of pregnancy. 2. Excessive cleaning Some young girls pay great attention to hygiene, but lack the necessary knowledge and often use high-concentration disinfectant to flush the vagina, which has the opposite effect. Because doing so will not only affect the growth of normal vaginal flora, reducing its ability to inhibit bacteria, but also cause varying degrees of cervical epithelial damage, and eventually erosion. Therefore, the correct way to clean the genitals should be: properly clean the vulva, do not flush the vagina unless necessary, maintain the natural defense line of the female reproductive tract, do not destroy the ecological balance in the vagina, and do not let bacteria stir up trouble. 3. Menstruation lasts too long Cervical erosion is related to the menstrual cycle and the number of days it lasts. Girls with short cycles and long durations are more likely to suffer from cervical erosion. Treatment can reduce the incidence of erosion by extending the cycle and shortening the menstrual period. 4. Incomplete treatment of vaginitis Incomplete treatment of vaginitis provides a "breeding ground" for cervical erosion. 5. Early sexual activity Nowadays, young people generally have premarital sex, early sex, frequent changes of sexual partners, and excessive sex (more than 4 times a week). These behaviors are causes of cervical erosion in young girls that cannot be ignored. 6. Multiple abortions Repeated abortions will cause varying degrees of cervical damage, giving bacteria an opportunity to invade and cause cervicitis. Due to the stimulation of inflammation, local secretions increase, and the cervix is immersed in inflammatory secretions for a long time, which will cause erosion. |
