What are the hazards of abortion to women? Which abortion method is safer?

Artificial abortion, also known as early pregnancy termination, generally refers to the termination of pregnancy by artificial or medical methods within 3 months of pregnancy. This method is used as a remedy for accidental pregnancy due to contraceptive failure. It is also used for those who need to terminate pregnancy due to illness and to prevent congenital malformations or genetic diseases. Artificial abortion can be divided into two methods: surgical abortion and medical abortion. Commonly used methods include vacuum suction abortion, forceps curettage abortion and medical abortion.

Before deciding to have an artificial abortion, you must choose the best time to be safest. So, what is the best time for an artificial abortion? What are the hazards of artificial abortion?

The hazards of abortion:

The time for abortion is 35-50 days after the pregnancy is confirmed. Before the abortion, the doctor must confirm the intrauterine pregnancy through HCG and B-ultrasound diagnosis, and determine that the number of days of conception and the size of the gestational sac are suitable for painless abortion.

Generally, after 35 days of pregnancy, the gestational sac in the uterine cavity can be clearly seen under B-ultrasound. At this time, the gestational sac is not large, and the uterine wall is thick, so the gestational sac is easy to remove. The doctor can use hysteroscopy to suck out the gestational sac. Relatively speaking, it does little harm to the body, has low surgical risks, and recovers quickly. Due to the low difficulty of the operation, the cost of the operation will also be reduced accordingly.

Patients who are pregnant for more than 70 days should also go to the hospital for examination in time. Because the development speed and size of the gestational sac will vary depending on individual physical conditions, women can also choose to have an abortion if the gestational sac has not yet exceeded the safe range of abortion.

The emergence of artificial abortion has helped many young girls with unexpected pregnancies, but we cannot ignore some of the injuries that may occur after an abortion, especially for underage girls or women who have not yet given birth. It is very likely that artificial abortion will make them unable to have children again, so please learn to protect yourself in life.

1. Heavy bleeding during surgery

Although medical technology is relatively advanced now and abortion is only regarded as a minor operation, during the operation, various factors may cause heavy uterine bleeding, causing great trauma to the uterus. If the bleeding cannot be stopped in time and the uterine cavity cannot be cleaned, it will easily lead to operation failure and cause greater damage to the woman's uterus.

2. The surgery was not done cleanly

Many young girls, after learning of their unexpected pregnancy, will choose to go to those black clinics out of fear and worry. However, such clinics actually have incomplete medical facilities, and there are problems with the cleaning of surgical instruments, many bacteria and viruses, and some are even unlicensed medical services. In such a situation, abortion is not only easy to be done uncleanly, but may even cause other bacterial infections, so that it will have to be done a second time. This kind of harm is unbearable for women. Therefore, even if you want to have an abortion, you need to find a regular hospital. .

3. Leakage during surgery

Many women still have early pregnancy reactions after artificial abortion last night, which proves that the operation was a failure. The reason for this may be caused by the woman's own uterine malformation, or the doctor was negligent in not completely sucking out the embryo during the operation. In this case, it is necessary to do a removal operation as soon as possible, because after the abortion, the embryo has been damaged. Even if it stays in the uterus to develop, the probability of the baby being born with malformations or disabilities will increase. So in the face of such a situation, you must follow the doctor's treatment advice and minimize the damage as much as possible.

So which abortion method to choose should be considered from the aspects of pregnancy time, abortion operation time, surgical contraindications, postoperative bleeding, etc.

Methods of abortion:

(1) From the perspective of pregnancy time requirements: medical abortion has the shortest time frame, which must be within 49 days of amenorrhea (therefore, it is only suitable for women with regular menstruation); vacuum abortion and curettage require a time frame of 10 weeks; induced labor has the longest time frame, which is only suitable for women who are more than 14 weeks pregnant. This method causes the greatest damage to the mother, so this operation should be avoided as much as possible.

New abortion surgeries, represented by the Vivi visual painless abortion, also require the surgery to be performed within 10 weeks of pregnancy, but it advances the surgery time to 6 weeks, which is impossible with traditional surgeries.

(2) From the perspective of contraindications: contraindications for suction uterine surgery, forceps curettage and micro-tube visual painless abortion mainly include acute inflammation of the reproductive organs (such as cervicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, etc.) and infectious diseases. At the same time, those with a body temperature above 37.5℃ before the operation are not suitable. In addition to the above items, induced abortion also includes repeated vaginal bleeding during pregnancy.

The bleeding time after medical abortion is relatively long. If the bleeding continues for more than 1 week, you must go to the hospital immediately and ask the doctor for help. It is very dangerous to take medicine for abortion by yourself.

In addition to considering future fertility issues and choosing medical abortion, it is also safer for breastfeeding women with a softer uterus to choose medical abortion.

There are the most contraindications to medical abortion, including allergic constitution, pregnancy with an IUD, severe vomiting during pregnancy, anemia, smoking, and long-term use of specific medications.

(3) In terms of the duration of the abortion operation: vacuum extraction and curettage take more than 20 minutes, and induced labor takes even longer; micro-tube visual painless abortion uses new technologies such as patient-controlled analgesia and computerized uterine cavity visualization, which can accurately locate and remove the embryo within 3 to 5 minutes; medical abortion takes the longest time, at least 3 to 4 days, and those who fail medical abortion still need surgery.

(4) Whether the abortion process is painful: Vascular aspiration and curettage are more painful and will last for about an hour;

Medical abortion is less painful than traditional surgery, but it lasts longer, about two hours each time.

(5) In terms of the difference in postoperative bleeding volume: medical abortion has the largest amount of bleeding, and it lasts for 7 to 20 days; aspiration uterine surgery and curettage have relatively less bleeding, lasting about 7 to 14 days; micro-tube visual painless abortion has the least amount of bleeding, and the bleeding time is only 3 to 7 days.

(6) Damage to reproductive function: Traditional abortion procedures such as vacuum extraction and curettage are performed under blind conditions and are entirely based on the doctor's experience. Therefore, they cause great damage to the uterus and can easily affect women's reproductive function. Medical abortion can easily cause uterine adhesions and lead to infertility due to the large amount of bleeding.

Women are so great! Giving birth to children requires so much pain, which 95% of men cannot understand. So, dear women, please protect yourself and make a decision before having children. Otherwise, you will not only hurt a life, but also cause great harm to your body. Men, please protect your women, because you will not be the one suffering in the future.
