What is uterine fibroids? How to treat uterine fibroids

Uterine fibroids have become a very common uterine disease, which troubles the health of many women. Experts point out that uterine fibroids, also known as uterine leiomyoma, are common benign tumors of the female genitalia. Few female friends really understand uterine fibroids. Let's take a look at the symptoms of uterine fibroids?

Why do you get uterine fibroids?

1. Heredity: Uterine fibroids have a certain hereditary tendency. If the mother has uterine fibroids, the daughter is more likely to have uterine fibroids. If all families have a history of uterine fibroids, we must pay attention to inspection and prevention.

2. Obesity: On the one hand, fat is metabolized into estrogen, and uterine fibroids rely on estrogen to grow; on the other hand, for every 10 kilograms of overweight a woman has, the risk of developing uterine fibroids increases by 21%.

3. Early menopause: During pregnancy and lactation, due to the effect of hormones, the ovaries suspend ovulation and do not resume until the 4th to 6th month of lactation. Therefore, the ovaries postpone ovulation for a certain number of times, and women with a history of childbearing enter menopause later.

Symptoms of uterine fibroids

1. Lump. The lump can be felt in the lower abdomen, especially when the bladder is full of urine.

2. Menstrual changes. This is a common symptom of uterine fibroids, including shortened menstrual cycles, heavy or prolonged menstrual cycles, irregular vaginal bleeding, etc. The reason is that uterine fibroids enlarge the size of the uterus, the area of the endometrium increases accordingly or the endometrium is too thick, hindering uterine contraction. Submucosal fibroids and intramural fibroids often have obvious menstrual changes.

3. Pain. Most patients do not feel pain, but a few still experience lower abdominal pain after fibroid infection or uterine deformation.

4. Pressure. Many patients do not feel anything. However, if the fibroid is located low, even if the tumor is not large, it can compress adjacent organs, such as difficulty urinating when compressing the bladder; difficulty defecating when compressing the rectum; and back pain and other symptoms when compressing the ureter.

5. Abnormal leucorrhea. Uterine fibroids often cause abnormal leucorrhea. Normal female leucorrhea is milky white or colorless, and after illness, it often rots and has a strange smell.

Can uterine fibroids disappear?

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that uterine fibroids are an estrogen-dependent disease. Patients with mild symptoms and mild fibroids cannot receive treatment, especially those who have entered menopause. With the arrival of menopause, women will enter menopause, their ovarian function will decline, and estrogen secretion will decrease. With less estrogen stimulation, uterine fibroids will not continue to grow, and will slowly shrink due to the lack of estrogen. Therefore, for menopausal women, doctors will recommend no special treatment, as long as regular examinations are carried out, the fibroids will slowly shrink.

So, can uterine fibroids disappear? Menopausal women can think that uterine fibroids can indeed gradually disappear. However, for younger female friends, uterine fibroids cannot continue to grow before entering menopause. Therefore, young female patients should actively treat it.

Uterine fibroids can not eat anything

1. Foods containing hormones. Patients with uterine fibroids are prohibited from eating foods that are hot, blood-clotting, or contain hormones, such as longan, red dates, donkey-hide gelatin, royal jelly, etc. Patients with uterine fibroids should not eat spicy foods and drinks such as peppers, chili peppers, onions, raw garlic, and white wine. Foods that are hot, blood-clotting, or contain hormones, such as longan, red dates, donkey-hide gelatin, and royal jelly, should not be eaten.

2. Do not eat longan, red dates, donkey-hide gelatin, royal jelly, etc. These things are health products for women to replenish blood and qi, but they are not suitable for patients with uterine fibroids. Because fibroids develop with estrogen, if the estrogen content in the body is too high, it will promote the growth of fibroids, so these foods should be avoided. If nutritional supplements are needed, these ingredients should be removed from the ingredients.

3. High-fat food. Since the formation of uterine fibroids is related to long-term and large amounts of estrogen stimulation, animal experiments have shown that high-fat foods promote the production and release of certain hormones, so the incidence of uterine fibroids in obese women increases significantly. Therefore, experts point out that patients with uterine fibroids should not eat too much high-fat food.
