How to perform surgery to treat uterine fibroids? Will uterine fibroids affect normal sexual life?

Many people get scared when they hear about uterine fibroids, which means that uterine fibroids endanger the health of many female friends. So, what is the surgical treatment for uterine fibroids?

Uterine fibroids are common gynecological diseases. If they are not treated in time, they will cause great harm to women. Uterine fibroids may be single or multiple at the same time. Compared with 20 years ago, the high-risk age of uterine fibroids in women has been advanced from 40 to 35 years old. Women who have given birth have a certain immunity to this disease, while women who give birth late will have a much higher probability of suffering from uterine fibroids.

Moreover, the earlier a woman's menarche occurs, the higher the incidence of uterine fibroids. If a woman finds symptoms of uterine fibroids, she should seek timely treatment. So, what is the surgical treatment for uterine fibroids?

Uterine fibroids are traditionally treated surgically. For asymptomatic patients, surgery can be temporarily stopped and conservative treatment can be performed, with observation and regular follow-up. For patients with obvious symptoms, surgical resection should be performed. For example, menorrhagia, irregular vaginal bleeding causing anemia; increased compression of fibroids causing pain or urinary retention; fibroids that are more than 3 months pregnant; pedunculated fibroids under the mucosa that protrude from the cervix; uterine fibroids affecting normal sexual life; pedunculated fibroids metastasize or become infected; pelvic masses, unclear diagnosis, etc.

If there are severe symptoms, total hysterectomy can be used. Unmarried or married young women without children should be treated with caution. According to the patient's condition, the location and size of the fibroids, conservative treatment should be adopted as much as possible, and hysterectomy is generally not performed.

In short, patients should choose appropriate treatment methods according to their own conditions. The occurrence of disease is not terrible. We should believe in our own strength and believe that we can overcome the disease and restore health!
