With the development of obstetrics and gynecology, artificial termination of pregnancy has been widely used in clinical practice as a remedial measure after contraceptive failure, especially the promotion and application of the new anti-early pregnancy drug mifepristone, combined with traditional Chinese medicine treatment after abortion, which reduces the side effects of excessive vaginal bleeding and prolonged bleeding time caused by poor discharge of pregnancy products, reduces the rate of uterine curettage, and greatly alleviates pain.

Nursing Tips: You need to stay in the hospital for 1 hour after the discharge of the tissue. If the vaginal bleeding is not too much, you can go home and rest.

Get adequate rest within 2 weeks after abortion, eat nutritious food, and avoid doing heavy physical labor.

Pay attention to the cleanliness of the perineum. Avoid bathing and sexual intercourse when vaginal bleeding has not stopped.

In the first 2 to 3 days after abortion, the amount of vaginal bleeding is generally equivalent to or slightly more than the menstrual amount. If the amount of vaginal bleeding is heavy or persistent, you should seek medical attention promptly.

Patients who have not seen tissue discharge should be observed for 2 weeks after medication. During this period, attention should be paid to whether there is tissue discharge during defecation and urination. Urine should be sent for pregnancy test every week.

Ovulation may resume soon after a miscarriage, so contraceptive measures should be taken to avoid pregnancy again.

Be careful with your diet: After a miscarriage, the qi and blood are depleted. Overeating greasy, raw and cold foods can easily damage the spleen and stomach. You should eat nutritious and easy-to-digest foods. You can also choose appropriate prescriptions or medicated diets for treatment and conditioning according to your body's tendency to heat or cold. The following prescriptions and medicines are available for selection:

Yigong Drink: 15g each of Codonopsis pilosula, Ligustrum lucidum, Eclipta prostrata, Rubia cordifolia, Leonurus japonicus, 12g each of Atractylodes macrocephala and Pollen pollen charcoal, 3g of Licorice root. Soak in cold water for 30 minutes, decoct to extract 150-200ml of juice, take twice a day, 1 dose per day. Suitable for those with persistent vaginal bleeding after miscarriage.

Brown sugar and motherwort soup: 60g brown sugar, 30g motherwort. Take the juice from the motherwort decoction, add brown sugar, and take it in 2 doses. Suitable for those with excessive bleeding due to blood stasis.

Ginseng and Astragalus Paste: 60g ginseng, 500g roasted Astragalus, 500g maltose. Decoction the first two ingredients twice, filter out 200ml of juice, add maltose, simmer and concentrate into paste, store for later use. Take 20g 3 times a day, with boiled water. Suitable for people with qi deficiency and light, thin blood.
