Manual Vacuum Aspiration (MVA): A method used within 3-12 weeks from the last stage. Considered less invasive with only local anesthesia used for the cervix.

Aspiration: A surgical abortion procedure used to terminate a pregnancy up to 16 weeks from the last period. It may also be called suction curettage, dilation and curettage (D&C), or vacuum aspiration.

It is best not to exercise excessively after an abortion. You can take a moderate walk, do yoga, or do some gentle exercise. Although abortion surgery is now safer and has a faster recovery after surgery, it will cause some trauma to the uterus because it is performed by entering the uterine cavity. If you exercise too vigorously at this time, it is easy to cause serious sequelae such as uterine prolapse. Therefore, rest after an abortion is particularly important, and proper conditioning is the key to promoting physical recovery. After an abortion, it is best to rest in bed at home for a few days to avoid excessive fatigue, which is not good for physical recovery. Generally, you can go out after resting for 3 to 5 days, but try to avoid being too tired and don't exercise too much.

However, resting after an abortion does not mean staying in bed. Appropriate activities can not only promote the recovery of the wound surface, but also promote intestinal peristalsis, digestion, and prevent constipation. Exercise after an abortion should be carried out after two weeks, and reasonable choices should be made in sports. Do not participate in overly intense sports. You can start with some light exercises such as walking and health exercises, which should not exceed half an hour.
