Can a mother with endometrial tuberculosis pass it on to her daughter?

Endometrial tuberculosis is an inflammation of the endometrium caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It is mostly a part of pelvic tuberculosis and also a part of systemic tuberculosis. The main source of infection is pulmonary or peritoneal tuberculosis. Most of the primary lesions are in the lungs and pleura, and the incubation period is as long as several years. Therefore, when endometrial tuberculosis is found, the primary lesion may have disappeared; the second is peritoneal tuberculosis; a small number of cases are transmitted by male urogenital tuberculosis through sexual intercourse.

So, is endometrial tuberculosis contagious?

Endometrial tuberculosis accounts for 50-60% of genital tuberculosis. It often spreads from fallopian tube tuberculosis to the uterus. The lesions are mostly confined to the endometrium, and in severe cases can invade the myometrium.

If it is really endometrial tuberculosis, it may spread after curettage, so please do not delay treatment. Endometrial tuberculosis is a curable disease, but it must be treated seriously. If you are unfortunately diagnosed with endometrial tuberculosis, you must seek medical treatment in time. Enhancing the body's resistance and immunity will help with treatment. Patients with active tuberculosis should stay in bed for at least 3 months. When the lesions are under control, you can do some lighter work, but you need to pay attention to the combination of work and rest, strengthen nutrition, participate in appropriate sports activities, and strengthen your physical fitness.
