A brief discussion on the etiology of bacterial vaginosis

Bacterial vaginosis is one of the most common gynecological diseases. If not treated in time, it can lead to miscarriage or premature birth, which is extremely dangerous. Because the symptoms of bacterial vaginosis are very similar to the clinical manifestations of cervical cancer caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). Once similar symptoms appear, you should go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible. Gynecologists can distinguish between bacterial vaginosis and cervical cancer through cervical smears.

1. Outdated vaginal cleaning method

After a period of treatment, some women choose to use soap, bath gel, etc. to clean their vagina. This improper cleaning method can easily destroy the newly stabilized vaginal environment, affect the balance of flora, and cause repeated attacks of vaginitis. Scientific cleaning methods and reasonable cleaning habits should be used to avoid repeated attacks of vaginitis.

2. Unhealthy lifestyle

An unhealthy lifestyle can also lead to recurrent vaginitis. Due to the pressure of life and work, some women often socialize and have frequent nightlife, which disrupts their biological clock, causing their body's resistance to decline and their private parts' immunity to continue to decline, allowing harmful bacteria to take advantage of the situation and induce inflammatory infection.

3. Unclean sexual life

If you do not pay attention to personal hygiene and cleanliness during sexual intercourse, the alkaline semen remaining in the vagina will change the normal environment of the vagina, thus leading to the recurrence of vaginitis.

4. Inappropriate use of medication

Some patients stop taking medication immediately after their symptoms are alleviated or disappear after a period of treatment, or they do not take medication regularly due to busy work, resulting in recurrence of vaginitis due to unstable drug efficacy. In addition, some patients frequently change medications when the efficacy is not good, which also leads to long-term treatment of vaginitis.
